Excellent Course

Course is in very good condition from tee to green given the recent dry weather. Layout is challenging with many elevation changes. Only downside was snack bar was closed at noon due to rain in the morning which led to no one on the course in the afternoon.

Nice Layout but not Great Condition

The course is short but the layout is quite nice with lots of elevation changes - take a cart. Course was very dry due to the lack of spring rain - greens & tee boxes not in very good condition, but was fun to play. Getting there was an adventure partially on a sand road - if traveling from the west, be sure to take the road north of the club not the one on the south boundary unless you drive a dune buggy.

OK Course

This is an OK course with several tree lined holes which I am sure quite nice in the summer / fall. Greens are quite large and in decent shape. Quite a few dog leg holes including 17 "the boomerang" hole which is kinda ridiculous.

Just OK

This is a "Just OK" course - good for beginners or intermediate players. Greens are small but in very good condition for early in the season. There was lots of standing water on most of the holes, there was some rain in the prior 2 days but the course clearly has some drainage problems. There are a few goofy holes like #10 for example.

Forgiving course

Course has wide forgiving fairways and small greens with very little trouble from tee to green. Easy to walk as the course is flat except for hole #9, greens are in good shape except #4 which had some frost damage. Overall, a good course for the intermediate / beginner golfer.

Nice Layout

Scenic Woods is a nice layout with a river running thru many of the holes that requires a precise shot into many pins. I played the course early in the year and several holes were quite wet, but would like to return in the summer. Greens are quite large and generally flat.

Played Opening Day 2016

Course was fairly wet, especially some of the greens on opening day March 12, 2016 - sand traps were in excellent mid season condition. Course layout is challenging with many carries over water and potential for out of bound shots - especially on #9 which requires a very accurate tee shot.

The Challenge course is very average, no great features - only challenge is crossing the river 4 times. Greens are quite small and many had tree branches on them

Wow

This is an excellent course, in my top 3 in the Niagara region. Tee boxes, fairways and greens are in excellent shape for so late in the season. Always really enjoy playing this course and got a great deal on GolfNow.

Nice course

This is a nice course with a challenging layout. The greens were a little bumpy as they were recently aerated recently, but fairways and sand traps were in good shape for so late in the season. Staff was very friendly.

Decent course

Cardinal West Wing is a decent course - no outstanding features, except maybe the quality of the sand in the traps, which was very nice. The course is very flat - easy to walk with some water in play on several holes, greens are very flat. I played after some fairly heavy rain, so course had some standing water and was cart path only.

Very nice course, well worth the play

Enjoyed the round on a 20c Nov 3rd with no wind !! Course was in good shape for late fall, want to play it next summer. Lots of ups and downs with elevated tees and water in play, good / fair challenge.

Nice Layout

Course is a nice layout that meanders thru a valley with a creek and ponds and many of the holes - fairways are fairly narrow - so hit em straight. Sand traps are really nice and greens were rolling OK with recent aerating. I had a prepaid hot deal for 2 and my buddy didn't show - pro shop let me do a "free" replay which was nice of them.

Excellent Course

RedCrest is an excellent golf course - very challenging with lots of lateral water hazards, so shoot straight. Course is in great shape from tee to green - 1/2 the greens were aerated which was interesting, but a good idea. Sand traps are in excellent condition & greens are mostly flat except for #18. Paved cart path thru course was a nice bonus.

Nice Course

Mont Hill is a nice course in good condition - especially the greens. Played all three 9 hole courses - gold is the easiest. Added touch, each hole has a brightly painted bench matvpching the course colour (gold, red & blue).

Outstanding Gold Course

Oak Bay is an outstanding golf course in excellent shape from tee to green, traps could have better sand. The course in carved into the Canadian shield and most of the holes have large rock formations and more than half the holes have challenging forced carries over environmental protected areas. The par 3 are excellent and very challenging - #15 is likely the best par 3 in Canada, a 160 yard elevated carry over a marsh to a green guarded by rock formations - amazing hole !! A must play course !!

Has its Quirks

Been a while since I played this course, it was in really good shape tee to green, and the traps are outstanding with beautiful white sand - best I have seen all year. The front 9 is quite tight, expect someone playing off your fairway on all most each hole. Heads up a well, as a few holes have tee boxes behind the green from the previous hole. The biggest quirk is #12, you have to layup off the tee, then hit ~100 yards 30 yards up to the green - very odd. There is a family of 5 foxes that roam the course freely - very cool !!

Really nice course with some challenging lies

This is a really nice course that has many challenging lies on the fairways due to unevenness throughout many of the holes - never had so many down-hill lies in a round ever !! Course is in good shape from tee to green, be short due to not much room at the back of many of the greens.

OK Course

This course is OK - several holes have hydro towers and wires which are unsightly and get in the way. There are some nice holes that cross the Rouge river, but there is also a handful of goofy blind holes.

Great course with scenes vistas

This is a great golf course with a challenging layout. Course was in great shape from tee to green - fairways were immaculate. Most of the course borders onto Lake Scugog, so lots of great views along the way.
