Park Ridge Golf Course
Played On 01/26/2018Park Ridge is a great golf course!
I have played Park Ridge several times recently and I really enjoy it every time. It is very challenging but very fair with a great layout that is completely different from any other golf course in the region. The course is much drier since they did a renovation on their drainage system last year. They have recently cut back much of the thick vegetation along side the fairways which makes finding miss hit shots easier. If I have any complaints it would be the Course was extremely slow that day and no ranger was there but it was extremely windy which likely caused the slow pace.

I have played this course several times in the last few weeks. It is just a great layout with terrain and elevation unlike any other course in the area. There are several holes with picturesque views you would not expect in south Florida. The driving range is excellent with thick grass similar to the fairways. Being a county run course they do a great job with course maintenance. The staff is friendly and professional. I highly recommend playing this golf course.
Thank you so much for the five-star review! Be sure to check out the other golf courses owned and operated by the Palm Beach County Parks & Rec department at PBCGolf.com.
West Palm Beach Golf Course
Played On 11/12/2017West Palm Beach Golf Course Tired
I have played this course numerous times but prior to Today I had not played in the last year. I really like the layout and always felt it was a decent value. I am sorry to say this Course has really gone down hill. Starting at the range there are only mats that are just terrible as the tee area is completely dirt and weeds so it is closed. On to the course itself many of the tee boxes are pretty bare and many of the fairways are just awful, mostly dirt. I really liked this course and have no reason to give it a poor review but if you are anything but a beginner this course is not worth playing. I really hope the staff can bring this course back but it doesn’t look as though any effort is being put into maintenance.
Winston Trails Golf Club
Played On 11/02/2017Winston Trails a fine Golf course
I have played this course several times in the last few months as I live nearby. This course is a fine layout with greens that are fabulous. It is a challenging golf course that is set up to be fair to higher handicap players hitting from the shorter tees and difficult for the lower handicap players hitting from the back. The greens are very fast and always in great condition.
The Champions Club at Summerfield
Played On 12/28/2015Wet Course Built in a Swamp
Although I have played this course a few times in the past and it had some wet spots nothing prepared me for the soaked conditions on my recent trip to Champions Club at Summerfield in Stuart Florida. When I checked in no one told us of the wet conditions except for the sign on the counter indicating cart path only today. We headed to the first tee and hit great tee shots right down the middle of the fairway only to watch in disappointment as our balls plugged on impact. After riding up the cart path to near where our balls landed we had to walk through standing water to get our balls then move them to the side of the fairway until we reached a spot dry enough to hit from. We decided to play on as we hoped the conditions would improve but practically every hole was like this. We had no idea to expect these poor conditions as we live 40 minutes south of the course but later we were told they had received rain the day before. My son basically ruined his shoes as he was wearing sneakers due to forgetting his spikes. Our clothes were covered with mud splashes from impacting the soaked turf with our clubs. Play was painfully slow and when we reached the turn a foursome of older members cut in front of us and were very slow, with no ranger in sight to oversee the basic rules that a professional course should pay attention to. After the round I went into the pro shop to ask if they were interested in comping us some future consideration based on the poor conditions and was met with sarcastic responses ranging from why didn't you stop and come in for a rain check (although is was a sunny day) to you should have called ahead and checked conditions prior to leaving your home. The guy in the pro shop agreed with the poor conditions and stated "if it was up to me the course would be closed but no one ever listens to me". During our discussion he takes a phone call from someone looking to book a tee time for the next morning and never tells the person the course is soaked. Needless to say based on the argumentative demeanor of the pro shop attendant I left disappointed and will not be back. Had they offered even the smallest amount of empathy and given me something to make me feel like my business is valued I would have given them another chance. We do not come from an affluent background and paying for a round of golf on this level is a treat for us that we do infrequently, but playing Champion Club at Summerfield turned out to be no treat at all. My takeaway from the day I spent there is that although the course could be nice it takes very little to soak the course as the drainage is very poor and the mosquitoes bite. Additionally and most important is that the management puts receiving revenue ahead of insuring that the paying public receives the quality of service one expects at such a course. I would not recommend this course at all.
Again, thank you for leaving your review on The Champions Golf Club. We regret to hear your round was not up to your expectations due to the conditions - we are on a low lying level of topography thus causing some of the wetter conditions you had experienced. We hope to see you again once conditions are drier. We have informed our staff of the pace of play issue and hope to make your next round the best one yet. We do hope to see you again!
The Champions Club at Summerfield
Played On 12/28/2015Wet course with poor drainage
I would strongly advise avoiding this course. It is basically built into a swamp with very poor drainage and becomes unplayable even with small amounts of rain. The course management is standoffish and there are many better options in Martin and Palm Beach Counties for high quality golf that this course should be avoided. Aside from the very wet conditions this course has members who feel jumping ahead of players coming off the ninth hole is acceptable and there are no rangers to enforce basic golf etiquette. Our round on a day that wasn't very busy took almost 5 1/2 hours due to older players and players cutting in front of us. This was s very frustrating round of golf. I would avoid Champions at Summerfield golf course.
