This brings me great grief to say this but Coeur D’Alene is one of the most worst designed golf courses of all time. Let’s be honest, they didn’t have enough room on the course for all 18 holes so they had to put one in the lake.

First off, you’re paying $270 to play about 6000 yards of course from the blues (there are no tips like they say there are on the score card). Second off, the course is only designed for seniors so good luck driving from the blues tee. Third off, it was after a celebrity event and they had workers banging on scaffolding during each shot.

I was highly disappointed with the layout of the course. Although it’s designed for seniors, it attracts rich 20+ handicap bros who are yelling after each shot.

I’d never recommend playing this course if you are a serious golfer, especially for the price. I paid way less for Arcadia Bluffs and they’re a far superior golf course. Overall, It’s a beautiful peace of property and nice staff but it’s not worth playing golf here.

Course layout is pathetic.

Amazing course layout and conditions. If you don’t like wind then don’t even think about coming here. The wind will destroy any good time you’re looking for. If you’re a serious player then this is the course for you. If you get out once or twice a year then stay away from this place and take your business closer to Indio/ La Quinta where you don’t deal with this wind. Literally, this property is always windy and that is the biggest downfall to it. I am happy I experienced it but I will never return or recommend this course to anyone.

I played here over 2 dozen time and the only nice or even competent staff member I have met is Chuck the starter. Everyone else a complete and utter baffoon.

There is a long history of just getting the Karen treatment from nearly every type of staff. Just test this next time you are here and try to kill the staff with kindness and see what you get in return.

In my most recent experience, my tee time was at 8:10 and my playing partner shows up to the tee box at 8:05 (I paid for him and check him in well before 20 minute before our tee time, like their policy states) and I watch the starter berate him saying that we are already 1.5 holes behind - but he was 5 mins early. I know this trick they do because they’re notorious for overbooking - they have at least 20 singles foaming at the mouth to get out - so, if you’re 5 minutes early, they will give away your tee time away to a scavenger.

This is MIND BLOWING how they don’t change their ways... I mean a course like this shouldn’t have a 3.3 on golf advisor. Take that as a serious sign, mgmt.

It is the best course in Southern California but the looks can be deceiving.

When I first saw Rams Hill on google maps, I thought it looked like a dump - not sure how long ago or what month of the summer the satellite photo was taken, but it’s tough to see the different shades of lush green grass that I can promise are there; perfectly cut with very little poa.

The course is everything it is hyped up to be and has the best views of the desert of any southern Cali golf course, include Palm Desert. In my opinion, Tom Fonzio designed the layout of the course where you’re unable to see another hole from the hole you’re playing. This forces you to take in the beauty of each hole and to focus on the current challenges in front of you - which there are a lot.

Only knock on the course is that they didn’t have hot dogs on Saturday’s round..... I mean, c’mon?!?

I feel like iced played every public course in SD since moving out here 3 years ago. Everyone I met who played Goats Hill Park raved about ease of play and how nice/interesting the course was.- boy were they right.

I enjoy walking and made a mistake, I ended up waking 4.8 miles and climbed 39 stories. Thank god I played early in the day.

Over all it’s a magical place and I can’t wqit to return with my dog and buddies for a good time.

Troon’s only course in San Diego and they know what they’re doing when it comes to course management and hospitality. The course layout is challenging but fair and the greens and fairways are pristine in condition. The pace of pay is usually quick; I’ve played there multiple times and all but once was sub 4.5 hours expect once. But above all else, their staff make the experience of Maderas. 10/10.

The management of the course is a joke. They do not manage tee times well and they're incredibly rude.

One time I played there and talked to 3 staff members before teeing off and not one of them told me it was cart path only. 10 holes later, a staff member comes out and insults me by asking if I could read because the cart path only sign was in the pro shop on the door.

Another time I booked a tee time on golf now and it should plenty of tee times open but when I showed up they were over booked and scrambling to get people off the first tee.

Overall, be prepared for a long round and to be insulted by their staff members.
