Rams Hill Golf Club
Played On 02/17/2021Dry
We play here annually because we’ve come to expect outstanding conditions and don’t mind the “clumsy” amenities. The course itself justified the cost.
Not so this year! It was dry and kinda ugly if you look close. Lots of not-turf that had a greenish color but decent grass is in short supply.
We didn’t feel like the course was worth the cost this year.
Borrego Springs Resort - The Palms Golf Course
Played On 11/28/2018Amazing deal!
We played at noon and got the $39 rate. Not many golfers on the course at noon so we moved at our own pace. Never waited. Finished in under 3 hours without hurrying.
Condition is remarkable. Fairways lush and greens true.
This is an outstanding golf experience!
Borrego Springs Resort - The Palms Golf Course
Played On 03/11/2018Amazing oasis!
The course is beautiful and impeccably maintained. It’s a classic “desert oasis” style course and they do it very well. I’ve been here many times and the pace is great.
The restaurant does not seem to care, really. We wanted to get a cocktail to begin our day. “2 Bloody Marys. Make them doubles”
We were charged $32 because one Bloody Mary is $8 so a double must logically be $16. There is a huge disconnect between golf and amenities.
Rams Hill Golf Club
Played On 01/23/2018Well, it is breathtaking
Life happens and we arrived at 8:47 for our 9:00 time.
We were prepaid so got our cart and were at the tee by 8:51. I said “good morning!” To the starter who, on learning our name/time said “Well, you’re FINALLY here.” Bla bla..
So.. First tee of a NEW course I’ve looked forward to since last winter and I get a snobbish “you’re late” attitude.
We stood around on the number one tee for quite awhile after introductions, instructions, and tips before teeing up. There was no hurry.
How long does it take YOU to get over that?
Oh, the course is very nice. The attitude.. I can get that at the Muni from the former pro.
Thank you for taking the time to write in a four star review from your recent visit at Rams Hill! We appreciate the insight from our golfer's course experience. See you again on the greens in 2018!
Dear u272485255,
First I want to thank you for being a repeat customer of Rams Hill and to also thank you for taking the time to comment. We take great pride in the many awards we win annually for course conditions. This past October, unseasonably hot temperatures and high humidity right after our ryegrass germinated brought with it a fungus that attacked turf on a few of our fairways resulting in thin ryegrass in those areas. We were fortunate that the fungus did not get into our spectacular bent grass greens as they remain immaculate as do the tees, roughs and bunkers. I hope that you and your group will return soon as warm weather will aide the transition from ryegrass to bermudagrass. Thanks again for being a longtime fan of Rams Hill.
