Ash Brook Golf Course
Played On 07/21/2023Absolutely 0 Pace of Play Awareness
Will unequivocally never play here again.
Their "ranger" watched a foursome hold up the entire back 9 for three hours driving past them numerous times. They would have an entire 1.5-2 holes empty in front of them, and refuse to let the twosome behind them, or anyone else for that matter, play through. The hole operation is poorly run and I will certainly not waste my money here.
Fox Hollow Golf Club
Played On 04/09/20225.5 round & no one cared at all
tee time was delayed half and hour, and then the round took almost six hours on top of that.
Then when we can in with the carts after barely finishing 18 and the sun had kind of set, the staff acted like we were in the wrong for taking so long.
Won’t be going back anytime soon

Definitely one of the best public courses in the state. I'd put it in the same top tier as Seaview Bay, AC CC, Heron Glenn, and Architects as my favorite public courses in the state.
The layout is great, the conditions just as good. The course itself is pristine.
HOWEVER - no course is worth a round being 6 HOURS.
We tee'd off at noon on a Sunday. And we waited on every single shot, on every single hole.
The starter told us "we try very hard to keep everyone playing a 4.5 hour round". And there were 2-3 rangers out on the course, but they did absolutely nothing to enforce the pace of play.
I'd recommend playing the course if you never have before, because the course really is that nice. But try and do it during the week, and expect the round to not be less than 5 hours.
Colonia Country Club
Played On 06/15/2019Excellent Condition
I've played here a handful of times in different outings, but never an actual round here, and was very satisfied.
The course is nice, very well maintained, and exactly what you'd expect from a usually-private country club course.
The only potential downside is that the staff, especially the starter, are not-so-friendly to the public people booking through GolfNow.
It is also kind of pricey, but really not too bad all things considered.
Heron Glen Golf Course
Played On 04/07/2019Top Notch Public Course
I go out of my way to play different public courses throughout NJ; and I don't know how it took so long to play here.
It's just about as good a public course experience as you can have. Definitely a little on the pricey side, but totally worth it.
Pro shop, driving range, starter, pace of play, layout, conditions... they are all A+.
Some memorable holes, they test most facets of your game, and the greens are as true as you could hope for.
Definitely a top-20 public course in the state.
Meadows Golf Club
Played On 05/09/2018"New Management" Atrocious
Booked a tee time at 2:50 on a beautiful Wednesday in May.
Every tee time from 2pm on was totally available online, which is why we chose to play here..... Yet the guy behind the counter told the 2 people in front of me "tee of whenever you want" and seemed to be doing that all afternoon.
The front 9 was very backed up considering the open tee times that were still available..... but the back 9 was HORRIBLE. At one point there were 4 foursomes waiting to tee off on 10 because the counter people were telling groups to tee off on 10 just because the front 9 was backed-up.
Halfway decent course, but absolutely atrocious time management.
Would never play again regardless of the cost.
Stephen,
I'm sorry that the round was not the best experience. We had a rain delay, but our normal rounds are less than 4.5 hours, so your experience is not to our normal standard. Please call so that we can make it up to you. 908-516-0010 and ask for Matt or Chas. Thanks.
