Goat Hill Park
Played On 11/20/2017Nice hilly golf course in a beautiful setting
If you’re planning to play golf in the Oceanside/Carlsbad area, this course is definitely a nice track frequented by the locals. It’s a short course with plenty of challenges if your ball decides to stray off the tee. Essentially, it’s target golf, but you can still find your poor shots on most holes. We walked it for exercise, but be prepared for long walks up and down steep hills. And use the map on the scorecard to navigate yourself to some of the holes because it can get a bit confusing for first timers. Overall the conditions were decent with very nice greens. A great value for San Diego golf.
Mt. Woodson Golf Club
Played On 11/19/2017A gem of a mountain golf course
Wow, Mt Woodson GolfCourse was quite a nice treat on my recent trip to San Diego. The greens were wonderfully maintained and although the conditions were not immaculate, the course was in decent shape for November. The course isn’t a long course, but there were plenty of challenges for wayward shots. The excellent value of this quality course makes Mt Woodson a must-play for me the next time I’m in the San Diego area.
North at Admiral Baker Golf Course
Played On 11/18/2017Pleasant San Diego course with nice character
The North course was nice. I’ve never played there, so I didn’t know what to expect. Overall, the conditions weren’t immaculate, but it was nicely maintained. The course isn’t long or overly difficult, so it was fun to play. The greens held the ball very well, but I wish that the golfers would fix their ball marks to preserve the quality of play. The pace was good for a Saturday; it wasn’t busy at all, and my son and I got around in less than 3.5 hrs. Can’t beat it for the value!
