White Springs Golf Club
Played On 08/09/2020Nice little 9 hole course
It was an hour drive to get there from home so I probably won't he going there too often. But it was a nice little course. The layout was little bit confusing and it could use a couple of more signs around the cart path in parking lot directing you to which tee box is where. Actually played the 7th hole after the third because it was the next closest tee box to the number 3 green there was no sign directing me to go a little further down the cart path to get to the 4th tee.
Jamaica Run Golf Club
Played On 07/06/2018Getting Better this Season
This is about the 4th times I've played here since March. They fixed the dandelion problem that was there early spring and put new sand in the bunkers. The course is slightly improved each time I play, cant beat it for the price.
Madden Golf Course
Played On 10/20/2017Nice course, but it smells.
The course layout, the staff, condition of the greens, was all fairly good. The issue is the smell. There is a water treatment facility across the street. There were a few places that weren't too bad but a lot of the course smelled like the inside of a porta-potty on day 3 of the sauerkraut festival. I hadn't played Madden in 20 years and it will probably be a another 20 years before I try it again.
Sugar Isle Golf Course
Played On 10/07/2017It's a gem
Sugar Isle is a top notch public course for a reasonable rate. The carts are a little old but the course itself is in great shape. Fairways, greens, and bunkers are all in a better state than other public courses for the same fees.
Hills at Community Golf Course
Played On 07/16/2016Not worth the money, poor course conditions
This course is only a mile or two from my house but I usually choose to drive 15-45 mins to a decent golf course. The poor conditions of the course are not on par with the price. There are 3-4 courses with in a 25 min drive that charge the same price or better, for vastly superior facilities. I typically see the same areas under construction for multiple seasons. The course had poor drainage, old carts, crumbling cart paths, and worn out greens and tee boxes. A few years ago I was on the 4th green putting, when the sprinkler system turned on. This was comical but annoying and odd as it had rained the night before and it was around 10 or 10:30 on a Saturday morning. I called the club house and the response was something like "Yeah they're on a timer, I can't turn it off." Just not worth my money to go back.
