It's worth the cost

This course is not in the best shape but it is in good enough shape to be well worth the $29 for a round. The only real complaint is the $8 for a bucket of about 30 practice balls. The driving range is a golf course's biggest money maker for the upkeep on it. Lowering that to $6 would get more range play. The same concept of lowering taxes, more people participate and even at a lower rate you get better revenue overall.

Middle of Winter

It's well worth the money to play this course. If you like long Par 3's this is the place to go. 6 Par 3's on this course and none of them are under 150 yards. 5 of them are closer to 200 yards than 150.

The Greens

This is a real gem of a course with no better greens to play on for the public in the greater Jacksonville area. They are fast, smooth and very receptive to approach shots. The course in general is in great shape, but I return over and over for the wonderful green surfaces. This course is a must play.

contrived routing

Let me start by saying this is a beautiful course with a very friendly and helpful staff. Massively elevated greens and fairway bunkers galore. When Pete Dye designed this course apparently he didn't know that it was a resort and not a PGA Tour stop. If you are not at least a 10 handicap you may want to play somewhere else. Not including the routing of this course was so ridiculous I have never seen anything like it. The funnest part of my day was driving the golf cart through the winding and hilly golf cart paths. There must be 2 miles extra of golf cart travel on this course than any I have ever seen. No one has ever walked this course. I could not imagine being a resort guest and paying $130.00. I will never play this course again.

Great Track

This is a fun golf course. Personally I like any golf course that starts and ends with a Par 5 unfortunately they are both in the top 5 hardest holes on the course. I look forward to playing here again just so I can make some better club choices off the tee. If you don't have course knowledge a few tee shots can be vexing. The greens are not overly undulated and very receptive. They had just punched them 2 weeks ago, but the maintenance on this course tells you they run nice when they are in normal conditions. I drove from Jacksonville Beach to play and thought it was worth it and I suggest anyone living in Jacksonville and surrounding areas play here.

Great golfing experience

I came to Orlando on a golfing vacation from Jacksonville Beach, Florida. I had to check out by 10 a.m. at my accommodations the day I was leaving but wanted to play 1 more round before the 2.5 hour drive back to Jax. As a last minute thought I called and asked the pro shop if they had shower facilities so I could shower before the drive. If I couldn't get a shower I was not playing - they have a shower with a men's locker room. So I made a tee time - $40. This was the least expensive round I paid all week. Then when I get there and pay they give me a ticket for any item you wanted at the on site restaurant - a lunch included with your round!! I had a club sandwich and it was delicious. They also gave me a coupon for 20% off an item in the pro shop - I bought a hat. They also gave me 2 small buckets of range balls - I only needed one. To top it all off this is a really fun course. I played a couple of Disney courses and others and this was my favorite round of the week. This is a great course for all skill levels. I even played with 3 real slow players with just all around annoying antics and still had a lot of fun. I can't wait to come back and play Celebration.

Resort Golf

This is the resort golf I envisioned when I made a tee time a Disney's Palm. The staff actually makes it as 'resort' as possible. Almost every shot into a green a bunker is staring you in the face with the pin right behind it - this was most holes - not just a few. Fairway bunkers everywhere. They used to play PGA Tour events here and there are placards at most holes telling you past information or records by players. For instance, the scorecard wrecker also known as the 18th hole. Don't read the placard if you don't want negative tee shot thoughts. "Hardest finishing hole on the PGA Tour at one point" All that said I still shot a better score than I expected and had a great time. Do yourself a favor and don't miss this course.
