Fairly wide open layout is great for those who tend to spray it around off the tee. Fairways and greens are generally in decent condition. Pace of play for a public course on the weekends is pretty good. Given the relatively low cost its a great value outside of the city.

Cheap course that is about what you expect. Greens are postage stamps that run about a 2 on the stimpmeter. Overgrowth of trees is a big issue. It's so bad on the 11th tee a punch shot is the only real option (not ideal for a 180 yard hole). At least it makes for good tailgating before Northwestern football.

A bit of a hike from the city but worth the trek. Excellent layout with unique challenges and strategy on every hole. No doubt one of the very best public tracks the Chicago area has to offer.
