Have played the course many times, and coming from Arkansas I am used to hot dry fairways that really get a lot of roll. Not so at HP. This is a great layout at or near sea level, and it has water in the rough on most holes. All the rain has slowed down the fairways and greens so you get plugged balls and very little runout. Golfers complaining about tees, traps and fairways should keep in mind that you can't mow fairways and rake traps due to all the rain...This is a well-designed course and well worth the price. I'll definitely be back and bring friends. Hot deals green fees are great...Dr. Don

The course is just now greening up and the fairways are difficult due to so much rain.
The layout is great with water on many holes and drainage ditches along the fairways.
Greens are very difficult to read and putt but they are smooth and challenging. At age 77 and having had three surgeries this winter, I appreciated the seniors tees which are very generous. The staff are very friendly as well. All in all a great course to play, and I will be a repeat customer....

Their GolfNow prices are super! The Back Bay is a very low and wet area so lift, clean and place is a must since you get a lot of plugged tee balls. Greens are much improved and are fast, very easy to three putt. This is one of Pete Dyes best designed courses, weaving through water hazards on many holes. However, the greatest challenge is having to hit many fairway shots from soggy lies. If you hit under the ball the least bit the club will dig in and nearly get jerked out of your hands. This will force you to learn to pick the ball off the fairway, a difficult task for amateur golfers. Don't be surprised if you have some big numbers and have trouble scoring. This is a really fun and challenging course with some excellent holes and driveable par 4's.
