Lakeview Golf Club
Played On 01/30/2015Wonderful Place
My Mom is a snowbird from Chicago, and I live in Florida. We make a point to play at Lakeview a couple of times each year. Lakeview is an executive course, so I leave the driver in the car and work on my irons. The course is always well maintained. The staff is especially friendly,
We'll be back!!!
Queen's Harbour Yacht & Country Club
Played On 06/03/2014Very Nice Facility
We caught Queens Harbor during aeration time (we knew this when we booked). Other than that, it was a great place to play. Beautiful course.
Jacksonville Beach Golf Club
Played On 04/13/2014Great Place, Tough Course
Course in pretty good shape for this early in the season. Greens are quite undulated. I feel this is a pretty challenging course. Crowded, but moved pretty quickly (under 4 hours on a Sunday afternoon).
The Oak Bridge Club
Played On 03/16/2014Needs some TLC
Great course layout. Very fun to play. Lots of water. Tee boxes were in good shape for the most part. Fairways and roughs were fine. Lots of bunkers protecting the greens. The greens, however, were really in poor shape. I hope they improve in the warm weather.
Waldorf Astoria Golf Club
Played On 02/17/2014My Favorite Course
An absolutely beautiful course hidden (if that's possible) on the Disney property in Orlando. Our family has been visiting the WDW complex for 25 years, and we never realized this place existed. It is first class all the way. Valet meets you at the front door, takes your clubs as you check in. Clubs meet up with you at the range.
The course is one of the most difficult resort courses you will find. Monitors in the cart act as GPS and service guide. We were there on a holiday, so the pace was fairly slow. Conditions were gorgeous. The greens were heavily undulated, well protected by bunkers and water, and made for a challenge to everyone in our party.
We can't wait for our return trip.
Disney's Lake Buena Vista Golf Course
Played On 11/11/2013It's Disney, and you get what you'd expect
Wonderful place! Beautiful setting, tied into a couple of Vacation Club hotels. Great GPS system on the monitors that tell you distance to the flag, plus distance from the tees behind you. Not as difficult as expected, as the fairways were wide. Lots of sand traps and water, but plenty of places to hit your ball. Food carts were rolling restaurants. Well appointed clubhouse and locker rooms. Not cheap, but Disney is usually pretty close to First Class. Can't wait to go back.
TPC Sawgrass - THE PLAYERS Stadium Course
Played On 9/30/2013This is as good as it gets!!!
1st time playing the Stadium course. Absolutely beautiful. As challenging as they come. Greens play like a gym floor. Rough is deep and mean.
By all means use a fore caddie. Ours was great, and helped to make our day. He helped us with distances, was great with reading greens, and easily covered his tip with locating balls.
1st class course and organization from start to finish.
Windsor Parke Golf Club
Played On 8/15/2013Great Golf Course
You better have your driver and long irons down - the fairways are fairly narrow, with some bordering water hazards. The out-of-bounds areas are usually mulched with pine needles, making it easy to find a bad hit. The starter does a very nice job of keeping people aware of their pace of play. The course itself is very well kept.. Can't wait to get back there.
Serious Drainage Problems
Had rains overnight, and we golfed the following afternoon. Lots of standing water. I felt they should have kept the carts on the paths only, as we were leaving tracks everywhere on the course. Quite a few of the cart paths were under water.
I hate to see normal daily usage ruin one of my favorite courses.
The First Tee of North Florida - Brentwood Golf Course
Played On 12/1/2012Surprisingly well maintained
Fun little nine-hole course. Lots of teenage players. The grounds were clean and well maintained. I'll be back!
Windy Harbor Golf Club
Played On 11/4/2012Love the helicopters!
Great place to golf. Good course for long hitters. Also a great course for not motoring through a box of balls.
