A September to Remember: User Photos of the Month
Other than the wildfires out West and the hurricanes pounding the Gulf Coast, summer weather continued into September for much of the nation.
For golfers, that means one last month to squeeze in as many rounds as possible, putting the finishing touches on summer 2020. October is generally when seasonality kicks in to end the golf season in many places. Courses in the Midwest, upper East Coast and Mountain West states start to shut down and prepare for winter.
The National Golf Foundation reports that, with a strong September in rounds played, the United States could see at the very least an 8 percent increase over 2019's 441 million rounds. It's an astounding figure considering the fact that many of the nation's courses were closed for upwards of 6-8 weeks in the spring. The last time the industry saw a 5 percent year-over-year increase was 2012.
