I really like Bear Trap Dunes
Winter golf rates are so.affordable through Golf Now. Played Thursday and Friday and my rate was $25 per round. Staff is great, and the course is in pretty good shape for mid-February.
Great for winter
The course was practically empty, and in great condition for the middle of winter.
Price is great this time of the year
I don’t often get to play out during the summer because of the rates going so extremely high however, through Golf now this course is extremely affordable and in great shape for the winter. I truly wish all coarses around here would offer rates to residence of Delaware, So that the locals could play all year round at affordable rates
Enjoy a Bear or more
Bear Trap Dunes is an outstanding place to hang out in Southern Delaware! Nice course, great conditions, and very friendly staff! Always enjoyable and challenging to play.
Bear Trap
The course was in good shape and enjoyed the round. Had a great rate that made it a real value. Food at turn was good.
Winter Round at Bear Trap Dunes
Good price for a winter round at a great course. Starter was flexible and me out for a quick round.
Great for the Money
I took advantage of a Golf Now hot deal to play Bear Trap Dunes It is a beautiful corse which costs a lot to play in season but was discounted heavilly when I played afternoon hours during the winter. The complex consisted of 3 nine hole courses but we played only two of them (Grizzly and Kodiak) These course were magnificent However, the greens were recently punched for aeration and did not role true and the foursome in front of us moved extremely slow such that we were barely able to finish up before the sun set (we started at 12:54 pm and finished just before 5 pm). The staff are neither friendly or unfriendly. Basically they checked us in with minimal instructions about the layout and accepted the carts on return. I would have preferred a little more information and enthusiasm but I really can't complain about anything because the price was so good.
Always fun
Fun course - every hole is different and clubhouse is great. Greens were punched, but we knew that in advance. But when there’s 12” of snow in Canada, we were delighted to be at Bear Trap.
Very playable and challenging
The staff was very helpful and friendly. The starter was great and provided a nice overview of the course and let us know what to expect. The course was in great shape. However, the bunkers were not raked. Normally not a big deal, but I think my wife and I were the only 2 to understand how a bunker rake worked. The layout flows very well, the fairways are wide enough to make it playable. There are a number of fairway and greenside bunkers. There were not any forced carries for my wife, which she liked, I had some from the tips, which added to the course ascetics.
I highly recommend the course.
Close by and they know it
Pricing at BTD is out of control for what you get (there is no dynamic pricing despite what their website says) but it’s the only solid 18 holes within 20 min of Bethany Beach. They need to bring back their 9 hole rate (completely at odds with the notion of expanding the game) and put more money into care of the bunkers (Grizzly right side fairway bunker is completely overgrown w vegetation). The greens have been in better shape as have the fairways in 2023 - maybe due to the DE Open. Pace of play can be a big issue and it isn’t managed which is also typical of the other DE courses. I will never understand it. Staff are pleasant which is great.
Good local course for Bethany-ocean view -Millville area-very convenient
Great layout and well maintained
Open fairways yet challenging layout. Extremely welll maintained. Highly recommend
