Great golf course, condition was not great, wet areas and some bare areas on the fairways. Greens were good. Very picturesque setting and the course was challenging but fair, lots of forced carries with a little work could be a real gem.

Rudy greeted us at our car and started the day off right by being super friendly. However, once I got into the clubhouse, I waited more than 20 minutes to pay my fee while the girl behind the desk was on her phone on a personal call. Course was in pretty decent shape considering the shape the course was in a couple of years ago.

used to play here once a week, but the manager was such a jerk, I will not go back....made me wait 45 minutes to tee off when the first tee was wide open, then put foursome right in front of us with a 5 year old kid running all over the place..

We really enjoy your course. it is a very challenging course Nd definetely for beginners. You have to be able to hit a ball a great distance to get over some of the ravines. It is very challenging and has a great layout. The starter (male) is one of the friendliest people we have ever met. We were treated very well. Thank you for the great day!

Apache Stronghold has made huge improvements to the course conditions from the last time I played, which was more than a year ago. Fairways could use a little more grass but if you don't mind tight lies I think you would enjoy this course. Greens were excellent and the overall layout of the course is both challenging and fair.

Have played here since it opened, was sad to see it fall into such bad shape. Heard that they had been improving it, so had to go see for myself. Played here in august 2014 and was disappointed, but now they've gotten it back to an 8 on a scale of 10..They say they've still got
a lot of work to do, but it's very playable now. I see that other reviews complain about the painted fairways, but think this was done to give the golfer a sight line. They decided to not overseed, toallow the bermuda the longest growing season they could,and give it a better chance this year.

Interesting course layout. Chose tees acording as your abilities. Do not hesitate to play from shorter tees because of many hidden hazards especially your first try.
Greens are excellent conditions,one of the best.
Nice sceinic drive to get there from Phoenix.

1st time playing At one time ways this had to be an outstanding course. very good layout and greens have nice features.Tees and greens good. Oivious no fall reseeding program, Fairways are waiting for some grass to grow. Looks like they are trying but they need to put some money into the course. It's going to take some time to get this course back into the great potential is has. Would play again at a good price. If some money was put into the course it could compete with some of the best courses in the valley. Staff did an outstanding job in trying to make for good golf experience. Plenty of Bottle water on course, ice in coolers.

This course has a very good layout and is very enjoyable to play, the fairways are Bermuda that hadn't been over seeded but we're very playable there were some bare spots but overall was in good condition. The green are good. I would definatly play it again even tough it is over an hour drive from Phoenix.

We try to play this course a couple of times during the winter and each time it gets better...The tee boxes and greens are in great shape and the new sand in the traps have improved them substantially...we really enjoy our drive out from the city and will continue to enjoy this course

The course was worth the drive past Globe. Rudy was at my car with a cart ready to go. He was very friendly and helpful. I was 20 minutes early for my round, they had me through the clubhouse and out the door and on the course in no time. The problem, the course was just flipped, back nine became front and front became back. Had to drive a good distance through sand and ravine to get to the first hole. They had GPS on the carts, which since I had my own I didn't pay attention to it, just for scoring. So, trying to make sure I had the right hole was not good to begin with. Now the course was a different thing.
The layout was good. There were times that the fairways were painted green, the greens had patches and very fast. On one hole coming across the green with the hole opposite me, I chipped, the ball and it rolled all the way across and off, so I used a second ball and putted, much lighter, the ball still rolled all the way across and way past the hole. There was no right way on that hole. The point being, the course can be difficult, but the beauty of the course is the whole of it.
I enjoyed the mountains, the weather, the open course. I had the whole course to myself and a little time to work on my game to fix a few problems with out slowing up other players or feeling rushed. That in itself was well worth some of the other things I did not like.

Nice course and love playing it. It has one of the longer/tougher par 4's with pin placement on the rolling green.

Paid $25 and would be disappointed if I paid more. Staff very friendly and helpful. Given the fact it is February and conditions are not the best, I enjoyed the round. Fairway grass is painted but the greens are fast and in great condition. Signage is extremely poor, thank goodness for the GPS as it was tough to locate the next hole and the appropriate tee color and the signage at the tee boxes did not match the tee info on the GPS. Fairways are very rough in sections with gravel, rock and sand. Overall I felt that the course is poorly maintained, probable a lack of maintenance dollars. The big plus was the casino and the food and beverage there.

Drove to Globe today for the first time. Enjoyed the scenery and the round of golf. Course is challenging with dog legs, up hill shots and fast greens. No houses, only peace and quiet! If you get a special, would recommend.

The dirt cart paths must have been at least seven miles long. Easy to get lost as poor signage. Course was very interesting and tough. condition of course was poor with painted grass. Greens were slick.

Good course, tough in spots. If you don't mind the long drive to get there (1 to 1 1/2 hours) it's good value for the money. It could use a few more direction signs on the drive between holes.

Compared to courses in the Phoenix valley Apache Stronghold is a great value. The course wasn't busy so we had no trouble completing the round before dark. Greens were big and in beautiful condition. Great views. With several tees to choose from you could play this course every day and still get a different look every day. Only drawback is cart paths aren't paved so by end of round everything is covered in dust.

The only good part of this course we're the greens.

Tough course. Greens were very good and fast. Need some work on the cart paths; very rough. Lots of places to get in trouble if you don't hit it straight.
