Shocked
Been playing here for 30 years but did not have a good experience this time. Pace of play was brutally slow, almost 5 hours. EVERY water station on the course was empty on a 95 degree day. Never saw one course marshal the entire round. Will try the course again but this experience was very disappointing.
Spectacular round
I had an amazing experience playing here!! I can’t wait to play again!!
Signage
Sinage was terrible finding the place. You have to CARRY your bags to dropoff. I would save play Raven or Legacy.
$30 course at best
Absolutely foul that they are charging $100 and more here. Construction on the first couple holes. Completely blind shots and no hole map at any tee box but you have zero idea where to aim if you’ve never played it.
However, none of that makes it what’s bad. What’s bad is the tee boxes were worse than paradise valley GC, which is a 1 star course and I’m dead serious. Tee boxes are terrible and the greens are bad too. Also took about 4 and a half hours to play and it’s 5800 yards. Pathetic. No wonder tee sheet is never full. Seriously should be 20-30 dollars
No proper range
The warm up area is a 30 x 15 foot netted area. We can get an idea of how our strikes feel, but not seeing the flight made it difficult to see if I was striking well. I understand they have a lack of space already; however, that could be easily accommodated by having some sort of simulators in a building so that we can have an idea of what our balls look like.
Beverage too expensive
We payed $45 for 4 cans of coors light. ($10 each +$5 tips). I think that’s too expensive.
Beautiful course
The staff were not interested in helping. Pace of play was very slow and they didn’t have marshals out on the course. We were told by another group of players that it was normal.
Course was pretty nice. The front 9 wasn’t what I was expecting for “desert golf” but the back 9 was. I used driver on hole one and didn’t even need to and never touched it again. You can get away with a 3 iron and have 130 in on average. (Depending on how well you hit your 3 iron. A lot of layup holes as well. Water features around the holes were nice to look at. Greens were skinny and long for the most part. No range, just a net with 3 mats that you hit balls into that looks over hole 2 and 3. Overall a nice course that I would play again.
Arizona Grand
The course after the first three holes is a very nice, picture taking course. The green on first holes was terrible, plus you have to walk a mile to get to your ball. The second hole had construction you could not see and green terrible condition. The third hole is hit and hope with long carry to possible fairway and mounds and water. The balance of the course was very nice, but several blind shots. We played with couple that had played the course before or would not known where greens were located. Very upscale facility, but would not pay to play it again. We were exhausted from excessive walking up and down mounds and hills after the first three holes because of cart restrictions. Would not recommend course to seniors or people with medical conditions.
April Golf
Enjoyed our round at the Grand. Play slowed as group ahead of us delayed by slow play ahead of them. Course Marshall should be out checking on pace of play. Like the addition of GPS on the carts
Father and son day
Fun course! Followed the advice of the starter and just followed the in cart gps.
Great track
The course was in good shape. Finished in 4.5 hours. Like the layout of the back nine.
