Hotel with history behind it!! Photo submitted by Shypoke55 on 04/22/2019
Nice fairways and decent greens
Overall the course is pretty sweet. Only tough part was landing anywhere but the fairways, lots of desert areas and high grass rough. Bunkers weren’t soft at all, more dirt than actual sand.
Apocalyptic golf course
This golf course looks like it hasn’t been mowed or taking care of since 1972 . the greens were the worst greens out ever played. It looks like a course that you’d play after a zombie apocalypse or a nuclear war. It’s that bad come on Golf resort and hotel give me a break.
Great Course with some Cons
Absolutely loved the course however the “rough “ of the fairways etc is way too long. Found myself loosing balls because It rolled off fairway into thick grass that I normally would find. But due to rain I’m guessing things got over grown like crazy.
Give it a shot.
It's a little out of the way but course was in good shape and fresh sand in all bunkers. Course I had a fabulous round so that made it better. Anyways a week before the open and this course was 69$. Everything else over a 100 and some courses even raise their regular rates from 90 to 150 plus. Seriously 350$ for a round at the Boulders? 80 bucks in June..... If you like to be gouged, enjoy if not give this course a try!
Fun course, excellent staff
Booked as a single. Starter moved up my tee time and sent me early with another single. Course played fairly and was in decent shape. Would recommend.
Not great
Staff was very friendly and greens were good overall. Tons or mole hills. Eough and fairways were lacking grass.
Christmas tee off time.
Nice laid-back course with friendly staff. But some of the greens could do some care because of the mole hills.
Great "out of the city" course
We enjoy getting out of the Phoenix area and playing this wonderful course every year. Have always gotten a good rate. The layout is nice as well as the course conditions. See you next winter, thanks.
Worth the Drive!
Francisco Grande has become one of our go-to courses in the last few years as it's remained affordable & has improved conditions.
We enjoy the layout, big trees, friendly staff, & delicious bratwurst (seriously, not your average brat). The pro shop even has great deals on golf shoes, wide variety of hats, shirts & other items. We always take time to browse a bit before heading out.
Pace of play can get slow on a busy day or if there's a tournament, but just plan on it & chill out. Enjoy the round, the people you're with, & the good shots we're all chasing!!
Location, location
I live in the PHX area and my good friend in Tucson. Not only is the course fun to play, but its location is perfect for us. We have enjoyed every round that we’ve played there. The staff has always been friendly too.
