Omni Tucson National Resort
About Omni Tucson National Resort
Omni Tucson National Resort is one of Arizona's most historic golf resorts, having formerly hosted the PGA Tour. The resort has just 128 guest rooms and suites, making it a more boutique experience compared to some of the larger Tucson golf resorts. There are two very different, 18-hole golf courses onsite. The original Catalina Course opened in 1962 with the resort and is more classically parkland in nature. The Sonoran Course is newer, designed by Tom Lehman, and more of a desert-style layout. Guests can dine at casual Legends Bar & Grill or enjoy fine dining at Bob's Steak & Chop House. Off the golf course, guests can enjoy lighted tennis course, spa, 24-hour fitness center and sand volleyball courts.Facts

#16 plays fairly steeply uphill. I was 16 inches for a birdie, after hitting a solid 135 club from 109 out. Photo submitted by Jonathan5270953 on 08/14/2013

catalina course - tucson nat'l Photo submitted by bellefeuille on 11/25/2012
Great value for me, a 5 handicap
Loved the course, played Sonoma, shot 79. Greens were holding and tees/fairways were in great shape. Bunkers ranked and plenty of water/bathrooms on course. Loves the practice areas, spent over 1.25 hrs there! Paid $68 after 2pm so great value!
Challenging, Beautiful Course
Watch out for the water!
Play well, and you’ll feel like a Tour Champion.
Awful Tucson National
Booked the Catalina course and despite showing the GolfNow reservation they put us on Sonoran course. It’s expensive to play there and they do nothing to make the experience. It was 100 degrees and every water station was completely empty. There was also no ranger. When we got to the 14th tee there were 5 groups on the hole. Sent a message through the GPS system that was completely ignored. We quit after 13 holes because it was so miserable and when we got in the pro shop was closed. Will never play there again
Great Courses and Facilities
One of the best kept courses in Tucson, both Sonoran and Catalina
Deceptively Difficult
Always one of the best manicured courses in Tucson. Fast, elevated greens with plenty of bunkers. More traditional layout than all the desert lined courses around here. No carries over the desert so much friendlier for my wife to play. Plenty of lakes that are easy to avoid if played properly.
Way over priced
The only nice part of this resort is the pro shop where they fleece you for $200.00 apiece per round. The bar gave us our beers for the course in a used grocery store plastic bag, the beer cart just parked at the front nine toilets (nice work effort). The layout was no better than our nice muni course back home, which costs $65.00 per round. Cart staff gone when we finished at 4:30.
What a treat!
I’ve been to Tucson a few times and finally had an opportunity to play here. The course was in great condition. I’d been playing desert courses while visiting so the Catalina was quite a change. The starter said, “Play it like you see it” and he was right.
Tucson National
Nice course! Very well maintained. Friendly staff!
Tournament ready
Great course, not desert at all. Elevated greens make for a tough day of yardages, greens were a little hairy I suspect keeping them nice before tourney starts, less breaks than expected as a result. Will be back!
Umpa
This course is a legendary classic. I play globally and i must rank Tucson National in my top ten along with some very elite courses.
Sonoran at Tucson National
The Soniran is not where the Champions tour plays but it was s nice course. Overall good condition. Played in 3:45 as a threesome. Staff was nice.
Very golfer friendly
Wanted to play the Catalina course but due to daily rotation played the Sonora course. It was a great and fair test, good shots rewarded, offline shots not severely punished. Course was in great shape. Pace of play was excellent. Starter was very helpful. Teed off at 2pm finishing at dusk. Will definitely play again!
