117 degree day and they provide no free water on the course... and the cart girl said "that's so you'll buy water from". Criminal. Also they didn't want us social distancing in separate carts, we had to insist. All in all i don't their management "gets it". Most likely won't be back.
Orange Tree GC in summer
Played Orange Tree today, via an attractive rate from TeeOff. We played the back 9 twice because they were aerating the front 9. This is a great course when it's hot: lots of trees and shaded areas to park between shots/holes. Some recent aeration issues were present in some fairways, as well as some standing water. Pace of play was excellent...came in well under 3 hours. Staff were nice and attentive.
Checked in and was told the back nine was closed for ariation and had to play the front nine twice. Lots of dry spots on the fairways As well as dead areas. Play was very slow
The course was cut in half as the back 9 was closed for aeration and no notification. was given. The open course was in good shape but there were spots with standing water. The main issue was the ground staff not moving out of the way when you were trying to shoot .
This is a great course from past experience. But it was a bad experience today.
BEAUTIFUL COURSE AMAZING VALUE!
Beautiful variety of Golf challenges! Beautiful lakes and layout. Lots of shade and cart girls take exceptional care of golfers saw her 4 times in one round. Relaxing course..
In poor shape
I agree with many others, this course is beat! Worst I've ever seen it. Bare spots, pooled water, dog poop, people walking their dog on the course, aerated greens that weren't disclosed, double tee which also wan't disclosed till we got there. The usual backup at the turn when they insert other tee times between those making the turn. You know what that means, wait on every hole. When I told the ranger Brad, he could care less and sent me to the director of golf. Saw him on the course and he could care less either. Not worth it on any level (except I've always liked the course itself).
First time at orange tree
I would give it a very good review the staff were friendly and helpful. I let it be known that this was my first time on the course and they were very helpful with suggestions on how best to play the course. i I enjoyed my experience so much that I plan on going back this summer. I would recommend it especially in the summer because there are lots of trees and even though it’s hot I found it was a pleasant experience because of the shade .
Overall good course
Only thing I would complain about is they always have landscapers in your way when playing. Not to mention a guy in a lawnmower followed us the entire front 9.
Course was packed, which is good for them. For some reason I could not hazard a guess, the starter left prior to 2pm which appeared to be a very busy part of the play day. It was slow play, but you kinda gotta expect that on a Sunday afternoon. A starter and a course marshal would have helped.
Great Day for Golf
I have played Orange Tree for several years. Under the current COVID-19 conditions-and having not played since December 2019, it was a good experience. The biggest failure was ME, not the course. Anyway, it's worth a play for the average or better golfer.
we had agreat time but it was hot the cart girl had big um hands
nice layout fun times we cut up a lot and make fun of each other but we have been known to be mean illegitimate children. We also tried not to take too many mulligans or looks in folks backyards where possibly the college girls were quarantined around the pool.Of course we were looking for an errant shot
Pace of play was horrible
We had to quit after nine holes because it had already been 3 hours. Not sure why but that is a deal killer and shouldn’t happen. Paid a lot for this time of year and it wasn’t worth it. Sad.
