Greens are in good shape, fairways and tees are getting pretty thin in a lot of places. They always have ice in their coolers on the carts and they were dispensing ice cold towels the other day which was very nice. Nice staff. Bar and restaurant were open Saturday the 11th.
Ranger, and staff
The best staff ever, from when we got are carts , golf shop, and ranger,..3 of us played 2:15 started at noon....thanks
Wonderful tree-lined venue Traditional course
This East Valley gem is well worth the drive as the layout is very user friendly and the greens while quick are large and fair. Great venue for learning golfers as there are few traps and hazards Just a really fun layout..
Normally I love this course
Normally I love this course. Manny dead areas no grass at all this week. I don’t know if they’re spraying for some reason. Gentlemen taking the money is normally not Mr. friendly. I normally love this course and its usually a great value
AS a threesome upon arriving at course we were told immediately we could not take separate carts.we were fine with that, two in one cart and one as a single. When we got to the first tee we were shocked to find out the starter told a single to share my cart with me.We do have a pandemic going on and you want me to ride with a stranger? Not acceptable.Went inside pro shop to see what was going on and was told I had three options.Ride with the stranger, pay $8 for the seat,or get a refund and go home.If I didn't drive today I would have left, but I paid the additional $8 to protect myself from illness.Hope you enjoy the $8,we will NEVER play here again costing you much more in the future. With what is going on in the world today some people still dont have a clue.
I've played this course many times and have enjoyed it very much however today you could not find any grass on the fairways. The greens were ok but the tee boxes and fairways were dirt.
Mondays best time to play
Viewpoint is always a great course to play. Summer is always much different than winter in Az. . But that said i always have a great time on course.
Great Greens, fun course!
Greens were in fantastic shape. Fairways n rough were okay. Great course for beginners, and just as good for decent players to shoot a low number. It's pretty wide open, so you can blow driver around.
I'll go back for sure. $25 for great greens and a fun course is good by me.
No need to hold us up
I have played this course a half dozen times before (all thru GolfNow Hot Deals), but this time when showing up at 11:30 am (an hour before our tee time), my playing partners and I were told we would have to "sit tight until our tee time". Now the course was not full...and this is Phoenix in the summer!! I typically show up 30-45 min early and have very rarely have had to wait to tee off during the summer...and I play twice a week. I am not sure if it was because we had a GolfNow Hot Deal, but another player (who also held a Hot Deal tee time just before ours) said the guy in the clubhouse was just "being a pr!ck", and has done this to him before. I had checked the tee sheet on GolfNow before we went to the course, and saw only two booked tee times in the hour before ours (and we saw them at the practice green). We patiently waited.....for almost an hour.....during which a couple of groups came in and teed off (apparently they were walk ins)...but there were times when nobody was on the first tee.. This really left a sour taste on the experience and we are reluctant to book there again...and we like the course. But holding us up was really unnecessary.
Fun course, rude staff at the clubhouse
Overall I really enjoyed playing at Viewpoint. I shot an 81 on this course. My best round I've scored in years! Unfortunately checking into the pro shop was not a good experience. The gentlemen working the front counter was not welcoming at all. Very rude. I absolutely did not feel welcomed to play at Viewpoint at all.
Viewpoint on a Saturday
A course in great shape for time of year and greens are excellent and speedy. Will play again soon.
Great place to go for a time up after 4 months off!
Course is in good shape. The greens are smooth and the fairways decent. Great deal for the price. Course is a little short, only 6250 from the championship tees. But after 4 months with no golf, it was great. Played in 3 1/2 hours. And lunch after was really good.
Forced to share a cart
I can’t believe this course putting revenue over public safety! I was a single and grabbed a cart after I paid and waited for the starter to call me to the tee. When it was my tee time I was paired up with a father and his two sons. The starter told me I had to ride with one of the three others and could not have my own cart. This would be fine if we were not in the peak of a pandemic!! I asked him was he aware that Arizona just had their highest single day of positive COVID test and he simply stated if I wanted my own cart I would have to go back inside and pay additional fee for the cart. I told him I already paid for my tee time which included the cart. This course doesn’t care about the public safety they just care about the revenue which is a shame!!!
Bad day to be slow
Had a great day today. Course was in beautiful shape for here. Tee boxes were cut, fairways were tight and drives rolled out and greens were receptive and putted nicely. Pace of play was strange. Finished in under three hours but truly could have been done sooner. Every group was playing fast and scoring well it seemed until the back nine. One twosome brought the entire course to a standstill. At the end, they were three holes behind the foursome in front of them. How can you call a two hour, forty five minute round slow but truly could. Will be back often with the heat and covid keeping many away.
Under 4 hours! Life is good!
It's very wet around the greens so you need 1 more club unless you fly it to the green. The greens are tough if you're above the hole, so plan your approach shots accordingly ... and have fun!
