new bunkers Photo submitted by JasonDeeganGA on 11/20/2019
Staff was super nice, range and practice area was very good. It did look like they recently repaired all greens as they barely had grass and were mostly brown and muddy. Didn’t enjoy the fact that there was no warning for that as I wanted to enjoy the greens and get good putt rolls.
Excellent resort course
Kierland Westin Resort golf course is just what you need after playing those target desert dry landscape courses. The grass is green and the fairways are mowed nice. The greens roll perfectly. Very good challenge for the average golfer. Water comes in to play on a couple holes but nothing you have to carry. Bunkers have nice soft sand to blast out. GPS on carts helpful. Halfway house has great food selection. Good practice facility. Bag drop is hit or miss.
Excellent Resort Course
A must play golf course here in Scottsdale, AZ. The layout will challenge you from every distance. The fairways have uphill and downhill lies to give you first on some approach shots. The Driver to the correct side of certain fairways is a must for low scoring possibllities. The green run true and nice. Bunkers are full of fluffy sand. Course is in great shape for the price.
Wait Until Fall Golf
Don't play this course in the summer. The Greens are barely playable. Tees are like the worst muni you 've played and the greens obviously have been let go in preparation for aeration. There was very little grass on the greens and in the areas where it was the worst is where they put the pins. It was interesting though, the two holes you could see from the hotel were in great shape including the greens. I did like the routing of the Acacia nine and the 18th hole was dramatic but thee are to many other courses in the valley that are so much better to make me return to likely pay 4X what thankfully I didn't pay.
wonderful experience,
course in excellent shape, can't go wrong for the price. use ice water towel on my neck and shoulder to keep cool. it worked beautifully.
Very forgiving
Enjoyed my round. Many of the fairways slope to the center, so it is forgiving. The course was in great shape.
Thought it was to have no trash containers or ball washers on the course.
Poor value for money
Like all AZ facilities Kierland raised their prices to historic levels to take advantage of post covid demand. This would not be so bad except for the lack of services that any good resort course provides. Disinterested pro shop staff, no services on the range, very slow play, poor conditions on the course. Anyone would expect more after paying $250. Will not recommend to anyone.
Poor value for money
Service staff totally disinterested in providing the level of service associated with a resort club
Has to be the unfriendliest Staff
I can not believe how unfriendly the staff are at this course. The fellow at the bag checking was so rude and was even rude to my wife who wasn't even going to play, I went to the Pro Shop after the round to make tee times and they were not much friendlier. Unbelievable... and to make matters worse we are owners of Westin Vacation Club and staying at the villas and I am a Platinum member of the Marriott program.
Fun course always play the same two 9’s
I’ve played here quite a few times. I’ve always played the same 2 9 hole courses. Mesquite and ironwood,…acacia is a mystery.
Pace great, great condition, much too pexoensive for this type of course- but that’s resort prices at peak season- expected.
I’ll be back in the summer.
Staff Could Have Been Friendlier
Beautiful resort course, but the staff could have been friendlier.
Very enjoyable
Very pleasant time with 3 members. Quick round at 3:30, but typical for first tee time with members. The bowl shaped fairways keep the ball mostly in play as we were rarely off line too much. Green were in good shape, but are tricky, and several of the pin placements were on the side of a slope.
