Golf course in poor condition
Played course many times in previous years. Course was dry. Grass completely gone on almost every hole. Mold in many places. Ground keeper seams to have lost his pride. Home owners should be embarrassed of their golf course. Like playing Cathedral Canyon. CC. Should not be in this condition.
Played as a single early on Monday hoping to skate through. Found I was behind a group of seniors who graciously let me skip through the 2nd par 5. I was on my way and was then able to play it on my way back around. Course is in some disrepair from rains so it’s not a true 72 par. But, the fairways and greens were top notch and a pleasant surprise. Would put them against any other course I’ve played in the last week. Staff was great and the price was right, which included 2 drinks after the round. Was a nice morning and relaxing for me. Not a top tier course but was lots of fun.
Number 9 and 10 have been turned from par 5 to par 3 due to water damage. Beware of the on course washrooms. Always dirty and disgusting. If the plan is to NEVER CLEAN THEM THEN CLOSE THEM as they are an embarrassment to the course, to t3 Welk foundation and the entire community.
Didn’t play. I canceled with the. Course on Tuesday. We have spent 2 days trying to get to Palm Springs but due to weather we have not made it. Trying to fly tomorrow.
The weather was perfe t. Course has ni e wide fairways and some interesting holes. I recommend t it.
Good course, give it a try
Good course, not a tier 1 but some very interesting and fun holes. A bit "tired" in places and there was some significant flood damage. They lost their range and parts of the first and tenth holes. They have been reduced from par 5 to par 3, not a big negative. Both my wife and I enjoyed our day and we would go back and recommend it to our friends.
Greens Good - Two Fairways Washed Out
This is one of the many condoball specials in the valley, winding its way through stucco bungalows. Lots of water on the course, and I wasn’t driving it well, so I was in there a bit. Grass was okay and the greens were very good, but the recent storm has washed out the fairways on one and ten so they are now par threes. This was considered in the very fair price of $22 which drew us here, and I would say that I would recommend the course if you were looking for a cheaper round within this seasons higher prices.
Poor Service Attitude
They wanted to charge me a price higher than my pre-booked Golf Now price and feigned unawareness. The starter was cold and rude. They push you onto the course as soon as you get there regardless of your actual tee time, no time to even take some warm up putts or really get ready to play No respect for the customer. A shame, the course is pretty good but they treat you like dirt.
You get more than what you pay for.
This is a cheaper course with elderly players so pace play is slow but you aren’t paying the price of a high class course. However the people are friendly and for a cheaper course it is is a great course to play.
Number 1 and 10 holes were turned into par 3 due to damage in the recent flood. Rest of the course in good shape. Greens were fast and always a challenge to stay out of the water on some holes. Be careful driving through the wash if the wind is blowing.
Tried to grab a drink and something to eat after our round in the bar area but very busy as they have dinner and entertainment on Friday evenings. Did not appear to have enough staff , 2 people, so we ended up leaving and going elsewhere.
Tee'd off at 7:00am and had nice front 9. At turn they put slow playing foursomes in front of us. A 3 hour back nine. The Starter outside was kinda cold with no personality.
Cathedral Canyon Feb 13, 2019
Course was in decent condition, seemed a little confusing with the pro shop and stater as I had booked online for 12:40 and the pro shop slotted us in at 12:32 and the starter didn’t even have us listed
Got out about 1:00, no Marshall on course, a lot of groups could have used a little reminder to speed up their play.
Nice course but a bit expensive
We enjoyed our round today, but found it to be a little overpriced. For the same price we paid here, on a 'hot deal', we can play far better courses outside this area. But that seems to be the theme here in Palm Springs. Expensive for want you get. And the bathrooms on how 4 were locked!
