good value
great people and wonderful greens,,will play again
Very good value for the money. Lounge and restaurant would be really nice to have available when your done a round of golf. The general manager went above and beyond to accommodate us. He’s a 10/10.
Overall good course for the price!! Only thing I can complain about is that my last 2 tee times here have been changed to an earlier time without notifying me.
This course has very friendly staff.
Due to flooding the tee box was moved on number 1 and the back nine was closed.
The course only had the front nine holes open, very disappointed to find out after we had arrived.
Booked Feb 6 for 11:40 pm on the 7th. Morning of the 7th I received a call from the course informing me that my tee time wasn’t available. He said 1:40 was available & they only had 9 hole’s available. I declined so I lost my GolfNow booking fee. Shouldn’t be on GolfNow !!
A number of recent reviews were very critical of the condition of the course. While some fairways were poor- the greens were excellent and bunkers well maintained. The course design is interesting with some very good holes and a couple of really good parts threes with water in play.
Course not kept up
Lack of yardage
No 1 almost unplayable
Cannot walk this course
No driving range
Conditions
First hole was ridiculous conditions
. No driving range
No yardage markers
They didn't actually have the T-Time
The course overbooked and attempted to blame GolfNow. The manager claimed that she'd called me but I had never received a VM, text or email. The starter ultimately let us play at a later T-Time. We were then stopped on the 4th hole by the manager demanding that we follow her to the clubhouse claiming that I hadn't provided payment although I had provided my card on both golfnow and in the pro-shop. I provided my card to them again for payment, completed our round and that will be my last experience with Cathedral Canyon. Play elsewhere
Sad
In 2023 this course is in sad shape. Cows would wonder why they were placed in this pasture.
I played this course many times in 2020 and liked it, found it in good condition.
For Coachella Valley, this course isfar below the average Greens Fee price. My Golf Now price with discounts made it a fair value -- I got what I paid for relative to other courses in CV.
Okay, Hole #10 was flooded out and had to be shorted to a Par 3. At the "new" tee-box the Management could not be bothered to put any signage telling us the new Yardage. That is indicative of the overall care going into this course.
Beware, the course tells you "good shape" except hole #10. That is a lie. Hole #1, also prone to flood, is 1/2 sand and 1/4 ground under repair.. Holes #2 and #3 are only slightly better. On the other hand, as you keep playing the fairways get better and match the maintenance of a fair rural muni. (which this is not).
In fairness, the Greens are in good shape. The staff was excellent. Carts clean and good shape.
Starters are wonderful people.
My wife and I play here once a year to see if course conditions improve. Sadly they have not. I will say the greens are excellent, but the rest of the course is not kept up at all. It's too bad because the homes in Cathedral Canyon are very nice and it's a shame to have the course in such despair. We'll probably go back again next year to check it out. If nothing else we'll say HI to Assa.
