The 11th is a TOUGH par-4 with great elevation and a false fronted green. Use enough club! Photo submitted by greebs on 07/20/2020

Yes, the 18th is a par-3. Get over it, and enjoy yet another perfect hole to finish your round. Photo submitted by greebs on 07/20/2020

The par-4 14th. A great example of what makes this course special. Notice the hillocks and hummocks on the left side of the fairway. Otherwise, this would be a mundane hole, but this addition collects tee shots and makes the approach interesting. Photo submitted by BrandonWebb on 08/12/2017

Makenzie called the par-4 16th the greatest two-shotter in the world, largely due to the three-tiered green. No room for error long, short or right. Photo submitted by BrandonWebb on 08/12/2017

From behind the 11th green, one of the most difficult par 4s I've ever played. Requires two-to-three clubs up on approach. Photo submitted by BrandonWebb on 08/12/2017

A beautiful and challenging course.
It’s a taste of Augusta. Has it own challenges and very well protected with bunkers.
Better practice your bunker shots and commit to it. Or you’re gonna have a bad time. Lol
Love the course
An old girl...
Last played this gem ~30 yrs ago. Hasn't changed a bit. Greens are a great challenge and the layout offers both unique and routine play. Practice your bunker play before you come. Can't wait to do it again...
Great Course!
Had an amazing day at Pasatiempo. The weather was great, and the recently aerated greens putted better than any aerated course I've ever played, and slowed the greens just enough to be able to make a few putts.
Pace of play was a little slow (4h 30m) for a semi-private golf club. I would've expected to get around a little quicker.
Advice:
- Take an extra club on pretty much every par 3. Even the ones that look flat are either deceivingly uphill or played into the wind.
- The par 4 #11 needs two extra clubs, at least.
Wonderful layout
This course is very challenging, need to have prior course knowledge to stay out of trouble.
Love the layout. Challenging course
Enjoyed my first time playing the course. Will return later.
Could play this course every day forever
I’ve played over 700 golf courses. This is in the top five. Every single hole and every single shot requires thought and precision. My only complaint was that I couldn’t play 36.
Classic course
Any chance you can play an Alistair Mackenzie course do it
A Disappointing Experience at a Top 100 Course
While we were excited to play at Top 100 course, the experience did not meet expectations. While the course itself is nice, we experienced a backup on each and every hole starting on number 1. At one point, we had 3 groups on the 3rd tee box. Not the best time, considering the nearly $300 pp normal rate. It's after calling the shop a marshal finally came out and noted there was extreme backups on the course and voiced his frustration with our wait, however no starter allowed the chaos to ensue. A nearly 3 hour front nine is not a fun experience regardless of where you are playing and the staff just told me their hands were tied and nothing could be done. We also saw at least 2 other groups quit and go in early as nobody was having a good time. Course is overpriced for what it is. I hope this doesn't happen to anyone else.
Pasa- Heaven on earth!
Pasatiempo is absolutely the hidden gem compared to the Monterey Peninsula. The Alistair McKenzie design and greens are probably the closest I will be to playing conditions similar to Augusta. Greens are perfect and challenging and a huge premium on accuracy. I play here every time I am in the area and get rewarded each time. Perfect course and climate. My only issue yesterday was about a 5 hour round.
Absolutely perfect
After hearing so many great things about this course I finally had to try it myself. The whole of the staff was extremely welcoming right from the beginning. I was paired with a member whip was very helpful in guiding me around this masterpiece. The course is in wonderful condition and I couldn’t recommend more highly.
scecial treat
my son and i treated ourselevs to a happy new year. the price is out of our normal league. but the course is so really nice, as well as the staff. we really enjoyed the layout and the greens. the course is fair and not gimmicky.
Yes, Pasatiempo is a fabulous golf course. While it is great that such an amazing design is accessible to the public, one should not expect the “member for a day” treatment despite the premium greens fee. This has always been the case, but my most recent experience was especially frustrating. It took close to 5 hours to play 16 holes, and our group played the 16th in the dark. Marshalls were not the least bit apologetic, and the staff took no initiative to recognize the slow play and subpar experience. I’m lucky that I am local and have had the opportunity to play multiple times - if I were visiting from afar and this was my one chance to play, I would be absolutely livid.
Great second shot golf course. Enjoyable layout, really well kept, a tad over priced
Really fun course, great staff, a touch over priced at the regular rates which is why it’s a 4 from me. Greens were immaculate and consistent. A much more forgiving course than I was expecting in the fairway department. Really all your trouble is around the green so a good mid-short game can put up a good number.
