Well worth it...
Only issue I had was a couple of holes needed better
Directional signage. That is it. Awesome course extremely friendly staff....
Good Round.
Had not played here in a year and half. Course was in pretty good shape. Bunkers were manicured, greens were decent however a tad slow, but overall pretty good. Course was very wet in some areas and a few times had to move ball where there was water in the fairway. I am glad this course is making its way back. As always the views are spectacular. Playing as a single other foursomes were very courteous and let me play through.
Great course
I’ve played grizzly ranch and now the dragon at Nakoma. Both of these courses are immaculate pro level courses and just gorgeous. Everything is perfectly groomed, and every hole is breathtaking. Definetly a must play. The staff was excellent as well, will try to come back whenever im in the area.
Average with possibilities
A buddy and I played the Dragon and we walked away perplexed. The fee was $100, but it played more like $45. The carts were old and damaged. Our battery ran out on the 16 tee box. The seats were worn and flat. The tee boxes and greens need maintenance. Lots of sand on the greens due to wear/tear. Fairways were in decent shape. The clubhouse/bar area was nice but I’ll equipped. No cart girl. All the said, the scenery was fantastic. Plenty of elevation changes. Could use more markers for first time players. I would go back if it were less expensive and maintenance was kept up.
This course requires some knowledge and strategy.
Beautiful and challenging course, not for the casual player who's just out to hit some balls. It is still recovering from some disease and\or winter kill problems but is getting pretty far along in that recovery.
Finally played, will play again
This course offers a great challenge to even the lowest handicappers.
Always challenging
Great time.
You have to play smart
Nakoma requires some well positioned shots to land GIRs. Pick the right set of tees for your skill level and the course opens up a bit.
Great Course That's Gone to the Dogs
I've played Dragon for more than 10 years and this time the course was in deplorable condition (almost unplayable). The entire course looked like it had not been watered in months. Overall the course layout remains A, but I'd give the course condition an F--. The staff is amiable but lacking in enough personnel to provide an excellent experience.
Greens
The greens were very slow and all 18 need lots of
TlC. Looks like they are doing that. Will probably be another month or so before decent shape.
Great Course
Almost didn’t play here because of the reviews about the greens. Glad I did though, because it’s a great course. Staff were up front and said the greens had been aerated around 10 days ago or so. Greens were actually what I would have expected for aerated greens. Course layout is amazing, challenging, and every hole is different. Only issue I had were a few rough parts in the cart path. Just be sure to bring your covers for your woods and you should be fine. Not too many people on the course, as I went out early, so good pace of play. Friendly staff also. Definitely recommend and will play here again.
Great except the green condition
Greens appear to have some form of disease. Course layout challenging due to lots of blind holes.
Tough track in poor condition
Turf conditions in fairways, surrounds and greens is not good. Cart paths are in real poor shape.
Beautiful course
The Dragon is my new favorite. Spectacular views...just need to get them greens in check.
Beautiful course. GREENS NEED SOME LOVE
Great course overall. Very challenging layout with BEAUTIFUL scenery. Only negative is the GREENS NEED LOVE.. Way too nice of a course for them to be in that shape. Alot of fun challenging drives that need to be placed properly if you plan on hitting the GIR.. Will definitely be back FOR SURE.
