Needs a lot of work, as usual
The world’s worst driving range also has the world’s worst range balls. See pics. I mean how can they give those to people. Balls covered in sand, unwashed. You have to wipe off every ball before you hit them, especially your driver and metalwoods, otherwise you will damage them. How can anybody call this customer service, at a place that tries to sell itself as a resort???? People from around the world come here and see the state of that. If you travelled to a far away destination and saw that range, you are going to run away. Especially this week, the Holiday week!!
And then the course…… my gawd, what is it with this place?
So many tee boxes need work, most were uncut today too, almost like rough on the tee.
And who did these pins on the greens??? Some of them were completely on side slopes and horrible humps!!! No wonder it was taking for ever to play. Having teed off at first twilight tee times, you would expect to be able to finish. But no. So many people were struggling with the course layout anyway, and then they have to deal with those crazy pins!!! On a weekday! Players were pinging back up and down and around the pin all day, we were so delayed we didn’t get to finish. We did our best, but we had to call it quits on 16.
Just really sad.
Amazing course, unfair greens
Beautiful views and great course layout. Fairways were rock hard and had some rough spots. Staff was helpful and friendly.
Major issue was the greens. Every green was mult-tiered and holes were cut right on the edge of them, making for some ridiculously difficult putts. I putted off the green a few times and therefore had the most 3-putts in my entire life.
Having to constantly smash putts up a massive incline in the green was not an enjoyable experience and makes it impossible to get the pace right on these greens.
If i were to come back I would try The Babe Course, which I heard was easier.
Place has gone downhill
Hackers are abundant here and almost seems like they need to work on their game on the range instead of sow down the day fhe real golfers. This course has a desperate feel. The staff always looks miserable and it shows.
Disappointed
The Babe needs a lot of work from tee to green. Once upon a time when Industry Hills was hosting the LPGA Kia tournament both the Ike and Babe was flawless. Ever since Covid, they increased greens fees and decreased course maintenance...it was once a jewel of a course but now just another place to play if all else fails. But this is becoming a norm for a lot of local courses. To get premium golf experiences, you have to pay $125 plus or drive out to Palm Springs/Phoenix/Vegas/Escondido.
Starter needs to to say, ‘Good morning, I’m the starter.’ Not be on his phone texting. Coffe machine not working.
WARNING: DO NOT BOOK AS A SINGLE
WARNING DO NOT BOOK AS A SINGLE, you will be forced to ride with someone you don't even know.
I've played here many times and never had this problem but on 11/27/2023 I booked a single and showed up to the course and staff was very rude and adamant that if you book a single you must share a cart with a total stranger and this has never been the case as I've played hear 50-60 times in the last few years but on this day this was the case. The three other players I was paired with spoke no English and all smoked, so if you see an opening for a single DO NOT BOOK or be prepared to share a cart with someone who can absolutely throw off your day because THATS THE RULES.
What angered me even more was that the staff just kept repeating “hey that's golf”, no it's not. This is the only golf course I have ever been treated this way at. Sad because I live down the street and loved to play here, even would come for twighlight quite often. I will not be back after this. On top of that I left after the first nine cus pace of play was so darn slow, tee off was 12:20 after the first nine holes it was 3:15, absolutely insane. Go somewhere this place has gone down the drain.
Single riders must ride with strangers
Loved this golf course up until this moment. Staff was rude and disrespectful. I booked a single which normally you can’t do unless a threesome is booked and there is an open spot. So I went to the course and usually I get my own golf cart aside from the other players but on this day I was told I would not be allowed to ride single I had to ride with strangers I don’t know. If this were the rule then why have I played here so many times as a single and not had to ride with strangers every time. They charged me $30 dollars extra to ride alone, I would have ridden with the other people no problem except they spoke no English and smoked cigarettes. I live right around the corner and will not be coming back here, there are plenty of better courses around. Also pace of play is terrible 5-6 hour round good luck.
No ethical hospitality for the customers
This management is very rude and no golfer ethics in greeting the golfer but policy for money making. No spectators rule is not family friendly at all. I had 4 players and two fathers. I was very distracted but appreciated the father and son game relationship.I bought a high school player with her spectator but no allowance. I got very special favor having her teacher and I paid full payment for her spectator. I still feel I owe some favor to them even if I paid a full green fee. Lol. Very disgusting same being here. No more game play here in my life and no referral. Deal is done.
Playing golf is more than a money Dude.
I experienced many times here having more than 4 players with several spectators. Today, I destroyed the gold ethics we value on generosity, hospitality and respect. This management is a lack of full mind of golf hospitality. Very shameful so I could not help writing this review with own valuable time. No referral and no playing any game here anymore. This is disgusting because they don't value the Youth players but money.
You were probably getting your own cart during the Covid provisions until they lifted a couple years after the pandemic. I have played there many times especially before the pandemic and back then they required us to ride along with other golfers regardless of how many people are in the group. And as far as riding with players that don’t speak complete English tells me that you’re a racist. And if you’re a racist and don’t like playing with players that don’t speak English then play at different course. Peace Out! ;)
