Course is in horrible shape.
Old white guys in pro shop are really bad. They look lost. Course needs better management and maintenance. Amateur central.
No marshall to keep up snail pace
This place has really gone downhill in the past year. Slow pace. Staff is bad.
Fun and challenging
Course was in great shape. We finished in just over 3 hours. Looking forward to playing here again
Twilight
The coarse itself was wonderful… Be cautious about playing after 12:30. Seems like plenty of time however too many slow players caused us to only finish 13 holes. No marshaling monitoring pace of play so you have people taking 5 practice swings, hitting it out of bounds, taking another 5 practice swing, hitting it out of bounds again, spending several minutes looking for their ball etc. I am sure you get the gist…
Cut the grass!!!
Every group around was seen looking for their ball on the first cut next to a fairway.
The grass was super long making a frustrating day with no reward on good shots around the fringe or next to fairways.
Babe course review
The course condition was very good.
The staffs were very kind.
Really enjoyed it.
Highly recommended.
Tough course great conditions
Challenging layout with extremely narrow fairways. Not many opportunities to hit driver if you’re a long hitter. Precision is the name of the game here, otherwise it will be a long and defeating day. Don’t expect speedy rounds here as everyone is scrambling to chase their balls from other holes.
Challenging course for blue tee
Played for 2 times ..
Quite challenging for blue tee shots, …
Loved playing all the way..
Want to revisit next time … for another challenge..
tougher than usual
This course is always narrow and punishing off the tee, often OB or lost on both sides of the fairway. In my mid-October round, the rough was so thick that balls easily became lost (my playing partners and I found dozens belong to other players), and, especially given the steep slopes, nearly impossible to play out of. So if you couldn't hit the fairway, you couldn't play the hole. You have to be either single-digits or a mid-handicapper having a good day to have any chance, regardless of tee selection.
The Ike was closed, so the Babe was busier, but even so, there's no way it should have been a 5:15 round starting in the late morning on a Tuesday. We were waiting at least five minutes on most shots. I saw a marshal once or twice.
Despite the difficulty, the course was in good shape. My playing partners played winter rules, because balls would often pick up mud when landing in the fairway. Since I never hit the fairway, I did not have that problem. The bunkers would have had enough sand if anyone had raked them within the past week, but even so, they were playable.
I can't recommend this course because it is too difficult for the average player. I'm a 14 index and I've had a few good rounds here, but usually it's a disaster. A friend of mine who is a 12 refuses to play it. My playing partners were all single-digits, but even they struggled, and none of them broke 80.
