Slow
The pace of play on weekends at Copper are always incredibly slow. Yesterday they had a tournament in the morning and pretty much let those groups jump in at any time on any hole when they wanted after the tournament. We were on hole 3, a twosome, a threesome in front of us and foursome passed us up and started on #4. Called the clubhouse, nothing was done about it.
Course looked great, greens were in very good condition but the bunkers continue to be embarrassing.
Best around
Copper is one of the best course around. It was cart path only, which sucked, but it poured the day before so not the courses fault. Good challenge but also fair. Second time at this course and will definitely be going back.
The Golf Club at Copper Valley
It’s a great course and worth the drive (normally). My issue was the greens had gone through aerification and it was NOT noted in the booking description. Other golf courses post it in bold and even offer discounted rates. Unfortunately, it was never mentioned during the booking process, check-in either (deceptive) and I didn’t realize it until the first green. Not worth putting for the day (so much sand).
Also, some of the fairways were cart path only (due to the recent rain) and not mowed. Last complaint is one of the staff members was on the rude/uppity side (delusion of grandeur). Locals know who he is.
Beautiful course
Great time, wonderful customer service, beautiful course & great time with friends and family
Much improved
After a year and and a half of the course being saturated with water they’ve finally cut back on the insanity. It’s back to being the top course around.
Will put back in the rotation.
Something less than you would expect from a resort course.
Some greens spotty with fungus issues. Sand traps in very poor condition with plastic liners protruding through the sand.
Sad Sad Sad
This used to be the finest course within 70 miles. New ownership has taken this course from Great to Goat ranch status in 2 years. green fees were $100+ ,course might be worth $35 in its current condition. Fairways/over watered (equipment tracks, mud in most fairways) lost 2 drives in middle of fairway to embedded ball. Greens/very slow (I called 2 days in advance to ask about condition of greens, was told "magnificent, just double cut them this morning ".)
Sand bunkers/ terrible! Lining exposed in every bunker! Grass and weeds growing in many bunkers, bunker on 7 was being used by maintenance as a dump spot for course clippings and debris.
I understand new ownership is in real estate/ homesites/building and not so much in the golf business, if that's the case than hire a GOOD golf management Co to run it or sell it to someone who cares because you are ruining a beautiful course. It was a true embarresment to bring an out of town guest to this course, pay over $100 for a course that is a shadow of what it was 4 years ago.
Over priced
I play a lot of golf and I took the time to drive to play copper valley and the starters with 2 other Marshalls was being a holes trying to goat me to hit up upon 2 senior players. Grown men acting like idiots ! The bunkers are terrible and for the price it’s downright shameful that the sand traps look so terrible. How much is sand? I played golf a few days prior with a guy at Mickey grove course & he told me one Marshall in particular was being a hole to him and his other 3 friends that drove up to play the course and told me they will not play it again. I feel the same , as a golf course saddle creek should’ve been a lesson but it seems the management of cooper valley doesn’t care. You should be ashamed and embarrassed the way those bunkers look. To all save your gas until this golf course takes some pride in what was for a time a beautiful course & well kept in all facets .
Nice course
Nice course. Well watered so no roll on shots. Greens playing slow from recent aeration.
beautiful course.
Some fairways were being aerated and the greens were settling from aeration last week, however, it played well and it is a beautiful course.
In the maintenance time of the year.
Price was ok for the conditions of the course. Was really wet, no sand in bunkers, and the greens & tees were recently plugged.
Pro shop needs snacks. Didn't see the beverage cart the whole round.
Overpriced
This course was great when it was Saddle Creek. The sand traps are aweful, constantly have to move your ball in them because the liners are coming up. The fairways are either soggy or have parse grass in spots. Not sure how the greens are because they were recently punched. I would play elsewhere for the money.
Copper Valley
Great course. We did not realize that they just sanded the greens. Somewhat disappointing. I do have a request. One of our players did not make the trip due to a scratched retena on her left eye the day we left. We only had two players, but paid for 3. Is it possible to get a credit for the player that did not make the trip? We love using Golf Now / Tee-Off and will continue using your website. Thank you for your consideration.
