10th Place
Played 10 courses in this area in 6 days with 6 guys. All 6 guys ranked this course 10th out of the 10. That doesn't mean this course is bad.... we played some fabulous courses. I thought the design was average, the course was in good condition. The pace of play was pretty bad. The first few holes had crickets or grasshoppers everywhere and a lot of them had died in the heat and the smell was excruciating. I'd go back and I would recommend it to people, it just wasn't one of my favorites.
OUTSTANDING AWESOMENESS
In the 15 years my brother and I have gone on our annual trip, playing White Hawk Ranch was one of our best experiences.
Tad in the pro shop was great!!!! Thanks Tad. Keith was also very helpful. Marcie...we loved your heavy pours. Dennis the starter...the best starter ever. We played 54 holes at White Hawk and Dennis helped us out...a lot! He would let us tee off earlier than our actual tee time and he would speak with the groups in front of us and ask if we could play through. Thanks Dennis!!!!
The course itself was in great shape. Nice risk/reward holes. Challenging holes and definite birdie holes. Greens were in really good condition. I'd recommend this course to everyone. We also rented the Finn Cycles for one round...AWESOME!!!!
Great Course!
This was the 3rd and last day of our 'Dukes of Hazards' guys golf outing, and we saved the best for last!
Previous courses were Plumas Pines & The Dragon... Mountain golf all!
Whitehawk is flat awesome. The day started with the nicest lady running the small snack bar making amazing breakfast burritos! Practice facility with grass and new balls, putting and chipping greens that mimic the course, and pace of play that was spot on. The course is like 3 courses in one. You start in the heather, work into the hills, and go in and out of the forest. I can see beginner golfers struggling quite a bit here, but I did not find it quite as difficult or mentally challenging as the dragon.
Everything was in perfect condition, they even have little motorcycle golf carts that are a blast. If you are making the drive, this is a MUST course to play.
Always enjoyable, Great day.
Pro and Superintendent were both nice enough to take time out of their busy schedules to talk to us about course and our round. Never had a bad round here.
Beautiful views
With the new course superintendent the condition of the course is vastly improved over last year. Fairways are maintained and not overwatered as in previous years. The ball runs along the grass. Greens are true. Small creeks meander through the course but cause few problems. A favorite course in the GRAEAGLE area. Big practice area includes chipping, putting and driving. Ball girls/boys take your bag to the driving range. Cart fee and practice balls included in the golf fee. A beautiful experience.
Great course, amazing practice facility
I've played the course several times, always on golf getaways with buddies. Did the replay ($115 for first 18, $55 for second), so the average cost per round = $85. Outstanding for that price! Played 3-hawk and 2-hawk. As a 16 handicapper, the 2-hawk was more fun. Challenging greens--slopey. The rough is death, and not much is marked hazard. Lots of lost balls as a result. Be prepared for that. Course is really gorgeous, plan to play it again soon.
The practice facility (range, chipping area, sand trap, putting green) is outstanding, probably the best I've ever used.
Nice, but overpriced
Played on a beautiful summer weekday. Course was not busy at all. Staff was very accomodating and nice. Course was extremely well maintained but was not itself very difficult. Lines are very straightforward off the tee. Fairways very generous and flat for the most part. Green not too undulating. They are very receptive and roll true.
Beautiful views
If you are in the area this course is a must. It's a little pricier then most.. But worth the money. We have been playing it for years. Very fair course, outstanding staff. If I had any complaints it would be the food service. You will injoy the outstanding views
