Barnsley Resort

Barnsley is in excellent shape and is a beautiful golf course. The greens were extremely true and played fairly firm and fast. Bunkers had a ton of sand and were very soft and fluffy. Overall, a course that is extremely well taken care of and a relative value as it feels like a rather high end private course.

I should note that off the tee it is rather challenging. While the fairways are decently wide (40-50 yd landing areas) if you miss into the trees which are on both sides on most holes the ball is 99% of the time gone. Thousands of leaves and sticks will eat the golf ball. Also the par 3s on the back are extremely difficult. Overall I think this is a rather stiff test for a "resort" course. So if you are a casual golfer you will likely struggle quite a bit.

This course is a hidden gem. The course is in excellent condition. Green are FAST. I would recommend playing.

Barnesley Garden is one of the best courses in South. The layout is spectacular and it is definitely a tough course. The greens at Barnesley in my opinion are the best in Georgia with only a couple of exceptions- it has been that way for a few years now.

They do need to update golf cart it’s bit outdated.
The course is perfectly maintained and manicured but in most natural way.(lol)

Always a good course but the last two times I've played the course. We have needed 6 carts to finish.. Can't make this up... It's a giant killjoy and messes up your rhythm.

Great course, awesome proshop clerk, 19th hole has some great bartenders and the choices of starters has not changed in long time hut theyre still good. My only two suggestions are get more drink & snack carts rolling and longer. Keep a cart attendant visible at shop until all golfers are in. More golfers more attendants. In other words unless they do this be prepared to go go thirsty or hungry.
Lastly Id love to become a member but wont until the pool is open to members too….thats just so odd.

We had been wanting to play at Barnsley for a while now. Resort property is awesome with lots of amenities. The golf, however, fell short. Course conditions were not ideal, fairways were dry and firm, tee boxes were mostly sand patches, and greens were fast, very fast… There is no drinking water anywhere in the 18 holes and we never saw the bar cart., so make sure you stock up before leaving the clubhouse. We made that mistake and had play 18 with the free 16oz water bottle you get with your cart. We even tried calling the pro shop to get someone out to our hole with drinks and no one was able to come. In summary, we expected more out of a resort golf course.

Course in excellent shape. Greens fastest in Georgia. Layout just not memorable. Just not worth $85. Good place to go once an a while.
