Staff needs to some work
The course itself is great. The front desk attendant was great, the marshal was awesome and kept things moving as best he could. The course was well kept, the greens were decent and the fairways were pretty good as well. No real issues with the course. Let me preface my issue. The first time I played at Fairfield I signed up online and booked my tee time online. During the sign up process, it asked for my birthday and said, "Free Round of Golf On Your Birthday." We were a day early than my birthday, but because of the possibility of bad weather on my actual birthday, I thought I would at least ask the question. "Hey, since there is the possibility of bad weather tomorrow, can I get my free round of golf today?" I wasn't going to be able to play on my birthday anyways. I guess it was a stupid question because the older gentleman who runs the Pro Shop basically made fun of me in front of a couple other golfers in the shop. Ok, so it might have been a dumb question, but how about a simple "Yes" or "No". I like the course but that was quite embarrassing. I certainly, at the time, didn't think it was a dumb question, but maybe it was.
Anyways, I have no other issues with this course. I will probably go back and play soon, but it might no be for a while.
The staff makes up for some course shortcomings
The course is a lot of fun, not difficult overall but enough tricky shots to keep your attention. The grounds are not pristine but, the staff outworks any shortcomings you may find with the course. Neat place, always fun
a few blind shots
Course was in good condition. Greens were still a
little bumpy from aeration. Bunkers had good sand.
Good variety with both easy and difficult holes.
Fun course to play. Staff was very friendly and
accommodating even tho we got lost and were
5 min late for our tee time.
Will definitely play here again!
Great layout. Friendly staff. I will play here again. Want to see the course in the spring. A little drive from Acworth but worth it.
Nice day, nice rate
Nice course hidden in NW GA near Carrollton. Winter conditions (some tee boxes iffy, dormant except for greens/tees), but the course playability was nice. Got out early when chilly to beat the crowd on a rare 75-degree day in February. Greens soft and receptive but fairly quick. Surprisingly nice bunkers - soft sand and all fresh raked - for the money. Staff and other golfers laid back and friendly, plus nice new carts. Tough to find, and plan on a few extra minutes at the guard gate plus navigating through large community to get to clubhouse.
great course
course was in great conditions for this time of year. Loved the layout and the greens are good for this time of year cant wait to come back in a couple of months and see the course in full bloom! great value for your money. GO here if you are around
cobrarep90, thanks for playing Fairfield! We are so glad you enjoyed it and hope to have you out again soon.
Nice Course
Great course can't wait to play this summer.
Long drive but was impressed with this course.
Sand traps well maintain. Staff was as friendly as i thought. But in all a nice experience.
ken1956, thanks for the review! Hope to see you again soon.
The course has great features
Great lay out, well kept, greens awesome and fast. I had very good round, the only problem was the leaves on the fairways, but that's expected this time of year.
uJVVZ4067JV, thanks for your thoughts on the course! We always like getting feedback on your experience with us. We hope to have you out at Fairfield again soon!
Blind tee shots
Not a bad course so I will not be to critical. The bad - there are multiple holes where you have a rise in the fairway and are unable to determine if there are golfers still in range, they can be completely hidden so you end up having to have someone ride up sometimes 150 yards to check before hitting. the good - the course was in pretty good shape and greens were very reasonable. The hole layouts are fine and pace of play acceptable. I have played here 3 times and will probably play here again so not so bad I guess.
RadiantSimplicity, thank you for sharing your thoughts on our course! We hope to have you back again soon.
Great value
A little drive for us city folk - but worth it. Course was in good shape, ok layout - an old fashion style that winds through a community. A shot makers course, some narrow fairways due to lots of trees. Got there early and got around quickly - we noticed it was backed up by the time we left. No cart girl - range wasn't the best - but had a great time - the positives much out weighed any small items- would definitely go back.
Have fun!
Easy layout and very good course.
Worth $10 only
Greens was in very poor conditions. The Tee Box was unorganized. I paid $10 it was a $10 course.
Possibly a great course
Pros: great layout, good practice area (chip/pitch, sand, and putting), sand was fine and not stony. Rough is ROUGH (easy to lose a ball in there; forces good shot-making) right off the fairway. Greens were very firm with sharply cut holes (after a weekend).
Cons: carts are somewhat under powered (and it's hilly), some directional signs would be great as the next tee isn't always obvious. Course was wide open (last I saw the group behind was on the first tee), yet the marshal chided me to keep pace. OB on course not always marked; had to return to tee box on two holes as the markers were inside a treeline and without previously playing, I didn't know.
I look forward to playing here again (and it's an hour drive each way across ATL traffic, so that's saying something). I'll amend rating as the seasons change it, but it has some possibility. As to the name, it's a country club by virtue of being in a gated-community; no attitudes from anyone were experienced.
A Country Club, I don't think so!
Upon arrival I was not greeted nor assisted with my bag. After I checked in I went outside to load up my cart and asked a staff member about my playing partner, when I told him the name I was given to join up with he replied, "oh, you not playing with the ____ group, you're one of those Golfnow tee time", as if we were not welcome and they were doing us a favor!
The course itself was hard and dusty. Couldn't even get a tee in the ground at most tee boxes. Not a single green was in decent shape.
We suffered through a 5 hour round with only one group one the course in front of us. There was no staff on the course, marshals, maintenance or cart person!
I will never play this track again, maybe that was the goal in the beginning, if so mission accomplished! I don't reccomend it to anyone who enjoys playing golf.
Country Club...I don't think so!
Greens in really bad shape !
Played there over 20 times and never once was charged for my wife to ride with me . Not only was i charged for her to ride it cost more for her to ride with me than me to play golf ! There wasnt a marshall on the course to enforce the speed of play and got behind a foursome that wouldnt let me play through . It took 5 hrs to play my round and i will never go back to play there again !!
max81968, we just wanted to thank you for your kind feedback! We hope to see you again soon.
