Scenic Back Nine
A great course with 4 island holes on the back. Challenging yet playable.
K and P review
perfect weather, course in great shape, a dont miss playing when in st simons area
Round on 9/5
I have played this course 3 times prior to this. First 3 times were great, however this was an unpleasant round. We had a 7:30 AM tee time. The outside staff was not ready, the practice range was not set up, and we had to deal with grounds members on every single hole, which is unacceptable. When you’re paying almost $200 per person per round, your staff and grounds crew should be prepared, even for those who tee off early at 7:30. Please do better next time.
Nice course
Great course with two distinct areas, the wooded side and the marsh side offer great vistas.
Playing conditions were fair but not worthy of the $149 greens fee.
Nice Course
Very challenging course and with no role made it very difficult for someone in their upper 70s. I enjoyed playing the course and we played it twice.
St Simons Golf Experience
Course was in very good shape. The staff were vert friendly and helpful. Kudos to everyone at The King and Prince Golf Course. When I’m in the are, I will definitely play again.
King review
Great course, A little off the beat and track driving from Savannah but worth it. Lots of water and trees if that’s what you like.
Need new management
Used to golf here a good bit because I love the back nine. Started running into issues of pace of play and lack of care of the course from players/members. This go around it started from check in when staff member had feet propped up on desk to greet me. Wasn’t told to grab cart or about balls or anything. Was simply a bother to him it seemed. I first got behind a bachelor party of guys that were nice and let me play through. I then got stuck behind a two some that was stuck behind about 10 on the marsh holes. I decided no way was gonna make it because of the crowd so I turned around and played 16. At this point it stared storming real good. No sirens or anything. I went in as it didn’t seem safe. Course was beat up from play and there was some very wet areas that seemed like they shouldn’t have been wet. Last time I will be playing and won’t reference anyone to king and prince. Waste of money and time. Truly disappointing as this course could be a top one on island if someone came in and cared.
Good course
First time playing this course. Not a fan of the short range that is irons only. For a course over $100 for a tee time not to have a beverage cart reflects poorly. Layout is great and course is in great shape. Staff is nice and helpful. Would play again.
Great family outing
My two son-in-laws and I played this course for the first time as part of a St. Simons vacation at the recommendation of a friend. Everything from the time we dropped our clubs off until we finished was great. Course conditions were some of the best I’ve played, especially the greens. On top of that I shot one of my best scoring rounds in over a year as well. We will be back!
King & Prince Is A No Non-Sense Gem
I played King & Prince many years ago when it was still Hampton Club. The course still retains a lot of its old school charm while the clubhouse seems to have been renovated in recent years (very nice). Played in mid July and the course was in great shape despite the mid-summer heat. Bermuda grass through and through- fairways and greens. were consistent and healthy. Pretty decent practice area, although drivers/woods aren’t permitted on the range. The course has some pretty narrow corridors, and a handful of blind tee shots that are tough to play for the first time (#14 the par 5 especially). Not long at all, but offers plenty of challenge for the size as well as some good scoring holes. It’s kind off the beaten path, and makes for a nice inland retreat. A bit overpriced, but so is everything at the moment.
Course had greens aerated. Would not have paid price for condition of greens. Played prior and course is a great course and was in excellent condition. Other than the greens condition it is a very nice course.
