Best Public Acccess Course in the Area
Great layout. You can tell a P. Dye course. Enjoyed it tremendously
Nice layout
Very nice course, the layout was excellent with the lake playing on several holes. Front nine was nice, but the back nine was awsome. Diffenitally refer to friends and diffenitally come back.
A fun course
Beautifully kept fairways and greens. Gorgeous surroundings on Brookville Lake.
Worth the Drive
This is not an easy course to get to, from any major city in the area. But rest assured it is worth the trip.
we arrived to find our name and tee time machine printed on our carts (nice touch)! The staff was very friendly, and we teed off on time. We got around in a little over four hours, which was not bad for a Sunday.
If I have any complaint, it is that on quite a few holes you had either an elevated tee box or an elevated green (kind of tough on a senior with bad knees) but still the layout was both fair and interesting.
Great course!!!
I had seen the reviews on golfnow and had been waiting for a chance to play here. I made the 1hour drive to see if it was as advertised. When I first pulled up and saw the clubhouse my thought was, man I just drove an hour for this.... clubhouse is a trailer/modular home. The practice facilities were very nice which made me feel a little better. But once we started playing all the reviews were true. I could go on about how great the course was. But just go play and see for yourself!
I love this place
Staff is very friendly, course is in great shape, greens smooth and fast. A fun place to play.
OFF THE DIRT ROAD
GETTING OFF TEE BOX IS FAIRLY EASY...2ND AND 3RD SHOT CAN BE CHALLENGING...GREENS ARE GREAT CONDITION AND CHALLENGING...EXPECTED THAT BEING A DYE COURSE. USED EVERY CLUB IN BAG... TAKES SKILL TO GET PAR...GREAT COURSE
Love this course more everytime I play it
This course is so beautiful playing along the banks of Brookville reservoir. Eagles and Herons are only some of the wildlife that can be seen while playing. You need to play this course a few times to get the feel of how to play it but I consider it always to be a wonderful experience no matter how well I play.
Fun golf experience
The course is in great shape. Come out and play you will enjoy the views.
Tremendous Experience
I first played Harbor Springs on October 21st and have been back twice since. The layout/design is nothing short of spectacular. It is a very challenging course but isn't exceptionally tight or tricked up. It requires many different types of shots (some of which I don't have. LOL) and forces a player to use most of his clubs during his round.
The 11th hole is nothing short of spectacular. #14 is one of the most interesting holes which I've ever played. Each hole brings something to the table which gives it a special feel. The architect, PB Dye, did a wonderful job on this project.
The course is exceptionally well maintained as well. The plentiful wildlife and glorious views were additional bonuses.
It's a long drive, but a scenic one for me to get to this course. The quick pace of play along with the wonderful experience of playing this grand layout made the drive well worthwhile. I'll make it out to this course on a regular basis from this point on.
Fun track with great views
Prepare to use all the clubs in your bag on this Pete Dye course. Course is in excellent shape with many scenic views. Definitely worth the trip!
Golf Right Near Brookville Lake
We have played Harbor Links at Sagamore Resort at least twice a summer since it's inception. The course used to be just OK under previous management and the name Buck Point. Now Harbor Links is maturing beautifully. P.B. Dye designed a challenging 18 holes that meander through the woods and along the shores of Brookville Lake. It is about a 45 minute drive from Cincinnati if you know the proper way to go (Cincinnati Brookville Road through Ross). The fairways, rough, and greens are all growing well and Kent's Harbor is really maintaining it as a "resort" course for Sagamore. What a place to play! Highly recommend if you have never driven there, it is well worth the trip.
Beautiful surroundings and a nice track!
Well it's out there... worth the drive? Sure, in most cases.
Some of the holes, especially along the water, are gorgeous! Among, if not, the prettiest I've seen in the Midwest!?!
The golf is semi challenging we played the Blue tees and it was not long for two 10 handicappers driving it 250 or less. There are really cool waste areas and 'grass bunkers' with wild tall 'grass', even around some of the fairway bunkers. You may not find the ball in there, you do not wanna play in there... they're fairly easy to avoid though. There is a good mix of small, large, to enormous greens with cool shapes and undulations.
Course condition was good with some disease eating in to some of the fairway grass on 1-9 and 18, leaving brown spots and spots with no grass (make your own 'roll it rule' and you'll be fine.) Rough is native grass cut down, you can get all and any lie; nestled down, sitting up, flier, pick clean hard-pan... Greens were firm but receptive and in excellent condition, no marks! They putted fairly slow compared to what we're used to but true, just whack it on the line and watch it roll true. Most bunkers were in excellent condition one I was in was hard clay and should have been marked as GUR or similar.
Be aware: there was no drinking water on the course, make sure to have/bring/buy something to drink before getting started!! (Staff know about this and gave us free bottled water.)
It was a 1 hour drive for us. Was it worth it, yes. Would I do it again? Probably not for just two players playing a quick 18 but for a group or so, absolutely! Maybe even spend the night and throw in some fishing...!??
Very scenic
The course was absolutely beautiful. Greens and bunkers were in great shape. We enjoyed so much, we took advantage of a replay at the end of our round. We'll absolutely return.
Worth the trip!
I don't usually write reviews for things, but I felt compelled to after our trip to Harbor View. We started our adventure leaving Northern KY before dawn for a 7:20 tee time. As we drove through pea soup fog, we were a little concerned that our start would be delayed due to the fog, but one we pulled up the mist was just lifting off of the course. Beautiful! So we loaded up the cart and head on out top the first tee. Being the first group out, it quickly felt like we were the only ones on the entire course. The course itself was in very nice shape, good greens and good fairways, but what really stuck out was the unique layout. Unlike most courses in the area where you just pull the driver and play whatever distance you have left, a lot of thought had to go into which club to draw from the bag so you wouldn't leave yourself in a heap of trouble. And a few of the holes were downright surprising with unexpected turns and elevation chances. Very enjoyable! The views were amazing, one hole more spectacular than the last. Being a twosome and the first group out, we finished 18 in just under 3 1/2 hours. The snack bar wasn't much to write about, but going next door for a beer and a blackened fish sandwich after your round comes highly recommended. Well worth the 90 minute drive. We will definitely be back.
Awesome, unusual course
I love this course !!!!!
We drive two hours to play this course. The lay out is very unique. The condition of the course is exceptional, the staff is very friendly, and the views are amazing.
Definitely one of my favorite courses !!!!!
Great views
The course is well kept and offers great views of the lake. The staff was less than friendly but that may have been due to our younger age. The cart path is dirt and had quite a few wet and muddy sections.
Great track!!
If your looking for a scenic, above average difficulty course, this one is for you. I would say definitely in my top 3 out of the courses I've played between Columbus and Cincinnati easily. Outside of Stonelick Hills and Aston Oaks, nothing has came close, although my ratings of golf courses aren't as reputable as other writers, but go play this course and tell me I'm wrong. I don't expect any pushback..lol..defiantly a sleeper
not worth the price
While this golf course is in very good condition in a good location it is not worth $49.
I would have to agree that the guy behind the counter isn't the most approachable guy. The woman is very pleasant there though!
