Course has a great flow to it.
Great course. Leaves are a bit of a hassle when looking for your ball.. but perfect other than that.
Great course. Challenging
This course is in perfect condition. With a Golf Now rate of about $30 for 18 including cart, the price was right. It is fairly long, and plays even longer. Of course the men have senior tees, but like most courses, senior women play from the same tees they always have played from. Most senior men's tees are within a few feet of the women's tees, with only a couple of exceptions. It would be nice if courses recognized that like senior men, senior women don't smack the ball as long as they used to. Pace of play was pretty good, mainly because this course doesn't seem to get a lot of play. We came up on a foursome, who was playing slower than us, and they did let us through, so we played 18 holes in 3 1/2 hours, after waiting a few holes to be let through. It is impeccably maintained, with great fairways and big, rolling, well-kept greens.
Always a good challenge
This course is fun, especially from the tips, it stretches 7,000 yds. There are holes that you have to strategically play with an iron off the tee and holes you can bomb it. Nice mature trees and is always well manicured.
Nice day
Course in great shape for as much rain this week. Everything was mowed and raked. Tee boxes were neet and trimmed. Greens rolled well. Getting better every day. Will play it again this summer. Thanks for a nice round.
Cinco de mayo
Great course. Didn't know about the College tourney. Made for slow play.
A Good Round
Playing Panorama is always a challenge I look forward to. The course was in good shape after a very dry summer, and the greens were excellent. For my game this course is fair; it rewards good shots and penalizes those that are not but still allows for some recovery shots. There are not a lot of on course aminities (water, restrooms), but you are close enough to the clubhouse on several holes that a quick run is not too disruptive.
Give this course a try and you will want to return.
Great track
Awesome greens. Back is undulating and big greens.
Slow play due to fivesomes and sixsomes
Last played here in 2014 and had problems with slow play due to inconsiderate foursomes. With a low price on GolfNow I decided to give LPN another try. Bad decision. When I got to first tee, there was a sixsome teeing off. They were gracious and let me play through. Play was terribly slow, then I noticed there were several fivesomes ahead of my group (I had joined with another twosome). It got so bad that I abandoned the round after six holes as it was just not fun. At the clubhouse, I asked an attendant about allowing large groups, and was advised that fivesomes are allowed and frequent at LPN. So I will not be back due to continual slow play.
Extremely challenging for a senior
My one suggestion for the course is to add one more T box. At 6200 from the whites it was extremely challenging for a 15 handicp'r/70 yr old, at only 5265 from the reds, it was too short. Need one at about 5600 to 5800.
Course was in excellent shape. Extremely large/fair greens with nice speed. No two holes looked alike throughout the 18. Moderate tree (woods) on most holes with manicured playability to get out if wayward shots found them.
Thoroughly enjoyed Spikes refreshment shack at the turn. Perfectly located and great prices on food and drinks.
As a Florida resident visiting family, I found this gem while looking for a place to play with wife and son-in law, and had to play it. It was 3:45 of nice relaxing round on a very scenic and highly enjoyable course.
Will play again and highly recommend for anyone.
Just add another T box for us seniors.
Spectacular
This is a special course. Besides an awesome golf experience, the staff is awesome. They are very friendly and helpful. Starting with the top guy John, these folks want to make your golf experience enjoy- able.
Well Cared for
Professionally designed. Well cared for.
Fun lay out not overly difficult. Enjoyable.
Not sure it is a destination course by itself unless your into the whole package like the Lake , boating, fishing and toss in a round of golf.
I realized about hole 14 NO hole touches the Lake and really has no view of the lake.
Back to the beauty.
Had not played course in over 3 years, but it was in very good shape. Cart path only because of rain, was please just to be playing again. Different tee boxes give you as much as you can handle.
Worth The Trip
LPN is one of the best condition courses anywhere in the state. Green fees are reasonable for an 18 hole course of this caliber. The resort has a full line of supplies, a bar and menu items to eat, and a brand new snack shop at the turn. The course also has four full time pros and a driving range. The course has a championship golfing atmosphere. The contour of the course is flat on the front side and rolling on the back side. The course fits very well together and affords you the opportunity to experience many situations and conditions all in one afternoon. Lake Panorama National is a course that brings together all the good things Golf has to offer.
Excellent course with a challenging but fair layout
I've played LPN for several years and this course continues to improve with age. The course has many trees and a fair amount of water that comes into play. The greens are large and roll well but aren't typically fast. The layout is very interesting with some easy holes and then some fairly difficult holes mixed in. The rough can get a bit tough at times and the fairways are of decent width but driving can be a premium. Overall this course is a great value given its proximity to Des Moines (about a 45 min drive).
Great Course
From the very start, this course intrigued me. The landscaping up to the pro shop was immaculate, I felt at home right away. When I got into the pro shop, I was greeted with a warm hello from the head pro, and around me, the golf pro shop was stocked well, and I did, in fact, buy a pull over. Once I got outside, I was greeted by the very friendly cart boys who catered to all my golf cart needs. The cart was fully stocked with tees and a scorecard and pencil, hats off to them. For the course, it was fun yet challenging. It provided a unique golfing experience for me, with some very challenging holes, with some forgiving holes. The pace of play was excellent at the time. I would definetely recommend this course to anyone who likes a challenge. I was very pleased with this course.
Horrible pace of play, inconsiderate golfers
My wife and I tried to play a round here, as we do every summer. The past two years have been terrible. Both years the pace of play on the back nine has been horrible, but this year was unbearable. After the turn, a couple of foursomes of men jumped in ahead of us. They made no effort to play at a reasonable pace. It took over an hour to get through the first three holes. The two groups were not bad golfers, just talked instead of playing. They knew they were holding up play but did not care. We had to quit after 12 holes, and when I told the person at the pro shop, they did not care. We will not be back and would encourage others to not play here.
