Firekeeper Golf Course, about an hour or so west of Kansas City, ranks among the best casino courses in the country.

Golf resorts in Kansas are few and far between, but there are two options in the Sunflower State: Prairie Band Casino and Resort north of Topeka and Lamont Hill Resort near Vassar. Prairie Band is a 300-room casino hotel next to the highly regarded Firekeeper course, the first signature design of Notah Begay III. Lamont Hill is much smaller with a 10-room motel, an RV campground and nine holes of golf.
