Expected more; way overpriced
Expected much more from this course as a first time playing. Pro shop is very nice with good merch selection, and looked like a nice restaurant but cannot comment on the food.
I was shocked when I checked in to see that the green fee was $175 dollars. Includes cart but there is no on site range. The layout was average with very few memorable holes. Conditions were average but far better than the neighboring Contraband bayou. Greens rolled fine but were a touch slow.
Cart girls were very nice and well stocked.
I could see paying $70-80 dollars on a weekend to play this course but $175 puts you in the upper tier of green fees and having played many championship courses, this one does not belong in that category. I would not travel to play this course again. Course staff were very pleasant and this review does not reflect the people that work there in any way.
Wide open fun
Huge fairways and plenty of open room in front of and around greens, great ideas for hungover gamblers. Front nine holes were all pretty similar, variety much better on the back.
Great location and views of lake, bridges, ships, casinos, even the refineries. Cool spot for golf, and fun holes to go with it.
Fast greens
I played the course twice while I was there. The course was in great condition except for 1 hole that was cart path only because of standing water. Also the was no GPS in the carts and the course had not been mapped for any GPS. Is a bit pricey without having that feature but otherwise a really nice course. lots of water but not really in play unless you really get off line and the greens are PGA quality.
