Course has a good layout
The course and staff were great. Range balls were included with the green fee. They required one person per cart because of Covid-19. Overall condition of the course was fantastic and greens rolled smooth. They are letting the sand traps become waste bunkers. Even got to see an alligator in the pond of the second hole.
Favorite Layout in Central LA
First time playing this course after living in the area a couple of years and it was a blast. We played from tips and the layout is really challenging but fun and pleasing to the eye. There is plenty of hole to hole variability and course conditions were really good. The greens still have a little but to go but were overall fine. The iced mango towels every 4-5 holes were great for a hot day as was the daquiri at the turn! A great play and I look forward to coming back again soon.
Better bring your A short game
Very challenging course that requires a lot of patience with your short game. The greens were very fast and undulating. Putts downhill will take your breath away. The fairways were hard and made the course play a little short but no one came close to shooting their handicap. Great guys golf trip.
Excellent destination. Paragon Casino provides off-course recreation, food and rooms. The course has more traps than you want to deal with, but is very open off the tee. Fairways and greens were in great shape, but traps need work.
This was such a Hidden Gem. You can tell this course was built with great care and a lot of money. Really great design. It's seen it's share of the recession of golf though and it shows but there is a new director of golf and he's doing an awesome job.
The first day we met him he was running around with a weed eater and was covered in grass clippings. The next day we met him by the clubhouse and were able to have a great talk about the plans for the course. You can tell this guy really cares about this course.
There's a bright future in store for Tamahka Trails thanks to him.
We played 4 rounds and had a spectacular time. The staff could not have been any friendlier.
We will be back over and over again.
It's a professional course that's has a beautiful layout, challenging, and has a real professional layout. You can book a room and play golf by day and gamble by night by choice. Overall great course to play in Marksville,
