About Sugarloaf

Sugarloaf is best known as the largest ski resort east of the Colorado Rockies, but summer time is also a great time to visit. Its Robert Trent Jones Jr.-designed golf course is widely regarded as the best in the state. Its “String of Pearls” holes along the Carrabassett River are strikingly beautiful and quite challenging. Guests can choose from the SugarLoaf Mountain Hotel, condos, private homes and Premier Properties, which are the most luxurious accommodations (homes, condos, suites) on the mountain. Recreational activities abound in the summer: Mountain biking, ziplining, paddling, scenic chairlift rides, disc golf, Segway tours, hiking and messing around in the Anti-Gravity Complex, home to a skate park, giant trampolines, a climbing wall, basketball court, track and gym.

Great father/son time at the Loaf

Amazing course with great backdrop on every hole. 10th and 11th tees are breathtaking. My son and I enjoyed every minute, every shot. We will be back! We will play an annual round or two going forward. Staff was very friendly and informative.

A must visit in Maine

We try to come up and play Sugarloaf two or three times a year and it never disappoints. Even with a challenging spring the conditions were better than expected. The staff clearly explained all the measures taken due the pandemic and were extremely friendly. The "String of Pearls" might be one of the best stretches in golf. If you are in New England you have to go check out Sugarloaf!

Unbelievable Course

I try to come up every year and play this amazing track. I am lucky to be a Mainer and can take advantage of their Wednesday Maine Days but I would recommend it to anyone wanting a challenging course with great views. The staff there are extremely friendly. This course has it all!

Sugarloaf mountain course

Awsome track, especially playing it in the fall. The course was in excellent condition . The views are spectacular and I remember playing here it seemed that it used to play very tight as I hadnt played here in about 20 years .I found it now to be not as tight as it was or either I played better and wasnt as intimidated like when I first played it LOL..This is a pure golf experience and I highly recommend playing this beauty. Green side up!

This course is a must play!

Despite losing more golf balls than I ever had, our group had an amazing time playing Sugarloaf. From the staff to the course conditions, the round couldn't have been any better. We heard about the "String of Pearls" before coming up but it's definitely better in person. The views on 10 and 11 are some of the best holes I have ever played. The greens are undulating, especially that ninth green. After the round we had a few drinks and some great fish tacos while watching groups struggle on 9. We are already planning a trip back next year. Note to self, bring more golf balls.

Best Course in the State

Sugarloaf is a must play. Conditions were excellent, greens were fast and rolled true. Some tight holes throughout so keeping it straight is your best bet, but if you can shape your shot on purpose then you will be alright. The views of bigalow mountains are impressive. Hole ten and eleven are two of the nicest holes you'll play in the state. I can't wait to play this tough gem again.
