Signature Hole #17 Photo submitted by NateRamsey on 04/13/2013
Alotta money for meh...
I dare say overrated.... The fees you pay at times to play this course, and the conditions you get do not match up. The bunkers are not well kept at all. You can see the tarp that is supposed to be under sand in many bunkers... #9 a glaring example. There are completely burnt and cracked soil feet off the green. Moss is on some greens. Not a single person that played before us owned a divot tool. Ha! Simply put, I expect much more from this course. People here are great.
Wasn't as bad as recent reviews
Read recent reviews and was pleasantly surprised. The greens were in good shape. The fairways weren't bad either. The bunkers lacked sand but for the $35 greens fee, it was a decent course
“Lodes”tone of Fun
Course lived up to the hype! Hot Deal for $50 was the reason we stopped here on our annual trip. Friendly staff, and immaculate course conditions made for an unbelievable experience. Shot a little above average (84), but just a great excuse to go back!
Too long for average club player. Too much sand. Greens large but Too many undulations. Just not a fun course to play .
Great course
A fun, challenging course with great views. Huge nicely maintained greens. Will definitely be back.
Needs maintenance
The course is nice but for the price you would expect more. The bunkers are untended. Some had exposed corrugated pipes and grass growing. Had to play them as ground under repair. The greens had huge dead spots around the aprons. They ruined the layout when they eliminated some of the nicest holes and added a par 3 from the fairway of an old par 4.
Nice course not what it used to be
The course is still very nice with a great layout but they have let parts of it go. Especially the bunkers, there is grass growing in most of them. The road in and parking area is gravel and very dusty, seems not finished but it has been this way for years. No beverage cart. No water on the course.
E&R18
Love the course. The sand traps are in poor condition and need work. Some of the holes with water had too many geese. The goose droppings were everywhere, on the greens, fairways, tees and actually the roughs. That was a problem on about 5 holes. They need to get rid of the critters somehow. They are more than an annoyance.
Scenic Course nice round
Lodestone was far superior to Fantasy Valley . When visiting Deep Creek would recommend. Course is challenging and scenic. Bunkers weren’t in the best condition. Gas carts put a damper on the day. Course is very wet til noon.
Don’t think I’d want to play it in the fall..
Great Golf Course
We had a 9:30a tee time after about 3.5/4" of rain the previous 36 hrs. Course allowed 90* rule off path, there were definitely wet spots in low areas. Range balls included with your greens fee & an attendant coming around asking if more balls were needed. Overall the course played very well from tee to green. Manicured traps, rakes available. Ranger was seen on the front and back, always friendly. Refreshment cart passed 4 times (they will not take a card beyond the 12th; FYI)! Scenic mountain views all around the course. I'm very excited to make a trip back for some fall golf!
This course has potential. Poorly maintained.
This course could be nice, but poorly maintained and odd design. There was no driving range or putting green to practice,. We went off at 8:10 in the fog. Played the first hole with no visibility and the 2nd wasn’t much better. it was crazy wet. Fairways have some issues and if you end up in the rough forget finding your ball. Hole 16 was very odd. With water twice. The gas carts with no gps were noisy smelly and not great. The fairways were like rough and the first cut on the putting greens were like fairways .We we’re disappointed. Not worth the cost.
Poor maintenance
Entire resort and golf course in deplorable condition
Needs to be grommed tee box to green
Front tee boxes were horrible
Sand traps were not playable
Greens were punched and nobody told us
No drink cart on a hot day
Crossed off list to play
not ideal conditions
The staff is very polite which made the experience a little better. The course has a decent layout but needs some serious work. Bunkers are dirt and the whole course is burnt out. Definitely not worth $70.
