About Forest Hills Resort

The Forest Hills Resort offers 280 RV and mobile home sites and hopes to expand to eventually offer more than 550. It is not open for public camping, only to members of organizations such as Coast to Coast, RPI or AOR. Guests rent the RV spaces seasonally (May to October) or buy a park model that looks like a small home. The resort is home to the fully renovated Izzo’s Bar and Grill, upgraded mini-golf and updated RV recreation and pool building home to an indoor pool, hot tub, sauna, fitness room, ice cream and candy shop and laundry facilities. The 6,346-yard Forest Hills Golf Course winds through ponds with only a third of the holes bordered by the development.

Hidden Gem

We stumbled upon this course while searching Golfnow. So happy we decided to come. It’s a great course. The course was beautifully maintained, greens were perfect and the layout was challenging yet sometimes forgiving. Very mature trees and lots of trouble if that’s what you like. I was very impressed with the quality of the course for the money!! Highly recommend.

Forest Hills golf Course

This is our 2nd time playing in 1 week. Course is lovely and in great shape. Even with the hard rain we had last night there were very few "wet spots".
Price is fairly high unless you play after 4 pm. Not a problem time wise but the "Skeeters" come about 7pm.
2nd time playing we used Golf Now. Had a better rate and teed off a 1 pm.
I would still recommend the golf course and if you are an RV'er they have great sites out in the open so it is very convenient.
We will play again when we come thru Detroit Lakes again.

Loved the golf course. Fairways in excellent condition and the greens were semi-fast and smooth. Rough was sticky (as it should be). Lots of water throughout the course. The lady that checked us in pretty neutral, not friendly, but not hostile either. Driving range setup is unusual, we had to reload our clubs back into our car to drive to the range. There apparently is no access to the range from the course and at $5 a bucket it was somewhat inconvenient. All things considered we had a great day!!

This was course #40 on my wifes bucket list to play all 50 states and could not have been a better choice. Course was in excellent condition with a challenging lay out.

Forest Hills

Would want a cart. Pretty long walks between some greens and next teebox.

I really enjoy Forest Hills. I have played 3 other courses in the area and I enjoy this so much.
It is close to where we stay at Lakecrest Resort, but it is like being in the country because of the fields around it and the quietness of the course. Thanks to golfnow.com for being so helpful, getting me a good tee time and a very reduced rate. I don't know if I would have played there for the $65 Friday rate. Blessings to Forest Hills and golfnow.com

Great course.

I was a golf professional for 25 years and obviously got to play some fine courses. Forest Hills turned out to be one of the nicest ever. Challenging but fair and in outstanding condition. Greens were fast, rolled true but would also accept shots. The fairways were green, generous, and evenly cut at the right height. The rough was also green but not unduly punitive. The course shows it is evidently maintained by someone that knows what they are doing.
We will definitely be back!

Hidden Gem off US Highway 10

Very friendly staff. Gentleman in pro shop walked me through course hints when he learned it was my first time at the course and followed up with me after the round at my car to check on my experience. I have driven by this course for years and can only see the opening par 3 from US 10. Very well worth the stop to see and play the other 17 holes.
