Enjoyed the Course
Innsbrook was a fun course to play. The course was in good condition and the staff and amenities are excellent. The weather was ideal except some of the fairways were wet from rain two nights prior so it was cart path only. This slowed up play. Also, as it was a weekday, a number of others on the course were singles or pairs and this slowed up play by us allowing these smaller groups to play through. The driving distance from St. Louis (~1 hour) makes venturing to this course less than ideal, but I did enjoy the course and would play it again in the future.
Just OK
Rough greens that need work. Golfnow rate that I got online in advance significantly more (about $15!) than if I had gone through the courses link. Very disappointed that my Golfnow “hot deal” was so overpriced.
Fantastic experience
Nobody wants to drive here, thinking it’s far.. if they knew what they were missing, they’d drive twice as far to get there! Deer are everywhere, the course is in incredible shape! Greens were lightning fast!
The staff, starting with the head pro Kevin, treat the guests, with a smile!
Value for the money, is the best in St. Louis
Worth the 90min drive.
Tee boxes 9/10 - only because a couple of them were a little uneven in spots.
Fairways 10-10
Rough = rough
Greens 8/10 (for this time of year 10/10)
Follow your own rules
During our round, I think it was on hole12 or 13, we went the wrong way at the fork in the golf path. We had to turn around and in doing so, we drove through the rough for maybe 10 feet. We had 2 sets of people then double back and follow us all the way down the fairway to tell us not to drive in the rough. They were nice enough about it and we're not rude in anyway. However, they both then proceeded to drive through the rough to play the hole ahead of us. Then on the following par 3 we watched 3/4 of them hit the green... None of them fixed their ball marks. I fixed 5-7 ball marks on every hole throughout the day. Most were old but every hole had at least 1 fresh ball marks made by this resident group in front of us. FOLLOW YOUR OWN RULES!!! I HOPE SOMEONE AT THE COURSE READS THIS!
High expectations, low results
I love this course , but today was very upsetting for me. I booked online and pre paid for a 2 person round, costing me over 100 dollars . Checked in and was told that course is behind on maintenance due to equipment failures. Was offered a discount due to the conditions but because I paid in advance no discounts were available. Not a day ruined or any anger expressed, simply asked for a small bucket of range balls and be on my way. Attended asked for five dollars for a small bucket after offering me a 24 dollar discount on rate that I couldn’t get for my pre pay round. Paid my five dollars with no expressions and continued to my cart. I collected my range balls from the golf cart attendant and moved to the range . I dumped out my basket to see that the 18 balls I received 9 were cut by a lawn mower. I still didn’t let this ruin my day. As I proceeded past the closed section of the range, that was prestige and perfect, there was maintenance working. I stood at the top taking practice swing after practice swing hoping they would notice me and let me practice a couple shots. Maintenance continued the process with no regard to the golfer. I gave up and headed back to the cart. As I walked back I noticed my cart had a flat tire on the left rear. Which made me start looking over the whole cart, ripped seats , usb charger inop and no sand in divot repair container. For the fourth time I let this pass “ not gonna ruin my day .” Continued on to the first tee while I was reminded of cart path only due to course conditions. While playing this 6500 yard course, cart path only, I didn’t understand there value of protecting there courses grass and layout if they don’t respect my value in playing it. Finished my round disappointed in my game not due to my athletics but in course management. I have played here before and this is not the first time experiencing this. I will not return and would not recommend anyone playing.
Vacation
It’s not just the golf. It feels like your getting away for a bit. Nice place.
Worth The Drive From St. Louis
I've always enjoyed playing Innsbrook. A bit of a drive from St. Louis but it is a fun course to play. Great design, decent shape, lot of slope and six par 3's (par 70). This course has had several starting holes (1, 10, & 15) but it looks like they have setted in on the current layout.
What I liked...
Staff is friendly, $30 greens fee in November, g,reat design, greens were fast, carts have the best cushioned seats and since it is surrounded by trees, the leaves weren't that bad. I think hole 13 is one of the best par 5's in the area.
What I didn't care for...
Most greens had small areas that didn't have any grass (really didn't affect play), some rough areas in the fairways from poor drainage. Hole 14 was really bad. Looks like they have put in some drainage tiles and filled the holes with small gravel. Good news these drainage tiles are not in the landing area.
The opening hole is very difficult. Small fairway with slope R-L. Rough was hard pan taking all balls left into the woods. The green is also too severe. Hole 4 is a very boring par 3. Beautiful view from the 16th tee but the fairway has too much slope L-R.
