Crystal Springs Resort
About Crystal Springs Resort
Crystal Springs Resort is a 4,000-acre playground located only an hour across the New Jersey state line from New York City. It is one of the country’s largest golf resorts with six courses - Ballyowen, Black Bear, Cascades, Crystal Springs, Minerals and Wild Turkey – and three driving ranges. The Grand Cascades Lodge houses 220 guest rooms with an inspired welcome: An outdoor putting course leading to an indoor lobby with high ceilings, wood beams and a stone fireplace. Both it and the 175-room Minerals Hotel feature their own spas and pools. Children will love the Biosphere, an indoor pool complex with an aquarium, vortex pool and caves, 140-foot waterslide and café, all in a tropical theme. Twelve restaurants are spread out among the course clubhouses and hotels, delivering a variety of menus and price points. Between the Mineral Sports Club and Adventure Center, there’s always a new activity or program to enjoy.Facts

Great course
Cold weather, but a great course to play anytime with great customer service.
Why bother being open….
To pay $70 and play a course that has no starter or has not done a single piece of course maintenance in clearly more than weeks.
CLOSE the course if you aren’t going to maintain it.
Very Good 9 hole course
Great 9 hole course that plays as good as many 9 holes on an 18 course. Definitely recommend all players of any skill set to play here.
crowded
Slow play... got backed up behind a SLOW foursome after 6 holes.... drove ahead to see what was in front of them and it was even worse at the 9th.. two 4somes waiting to hit..... people still on the green.. so sadly I abandoned the round... great course but S L O W P L A Y...kills golf...
Did not finish round
Will not play again if this is the norm .tee time 1145 all good we were only on #16 at 5 o'clock could not take it .when we drove back to clubhouse a group on 17 fairway just teed off no one on green and not a sole anywhere to be found on 18 this 4 some backed up course for hours . Group ahead of us tried playing thru to no avail
Great Course, country club service and amenities on a public course.
Good track great greens
Nice layout and certainly flatter fairways than Crystal Springs. Probably the truest greens I have played in a while snd fast too. Overall great experience except for some slow play ahead. Going to be awfully pretty as the leaves turn as well
Sand Bunkers
The bunkers are disgraceful for a good course like Black Bear. It has been in this condition for several years. Some bunkers are filled in with new sand, but there are too many bunkers with dirt and rocks.
Always challenging
Love this place, but haven't played it in years. I was surprised how much it's changed over the years, a lot of housing has been built around it.
Same, spectacular holes though, same maddening mounds, tight holes and tricky greens. Quarry par 3 is still breathtaking and fun. The course plays a lot longer than it seems, many uphill greens require a forced carry..
The course is in great shape, but the cart paths are really beat up.
Pace of play was good, a lot of travel between holes keep groups spaced.
Not much for food after the round though, the one restaurant was booked and bar was full..
Pace of play
Couldn’t get 12 holes in, in four and a half hours just sad. ☹️
