Creek Course #9 Photo submitted by GreerGolf on 06/06/2017
Course was in very rough condition
For the price, the course should have been in better playing condition.
Greens we’re in ver bad condition and the fairways were bad as well
Over priced
Course is priced the same as la cantera and the quarry and its 2/5 while those are 4 and 5/5. Fun track they just think it’s something that it’s not. Greens were slow. Will play again but only if the others aren’t available
Scheduling Issue / Unfriendly Staff
I show up 5 min late to my 1PM tee time. Gentleman who checks you in was rude calling out my last name as I was walking up telling me to hurry or I would need to wait an hour to golf, keep in mind I just finished paying $174 for my father and I to play here for the first time. Not only does he call us out but I didn’t even know where I was driving to as there are 3 different course layouts on the resort and I have no clue which one I’m starting off at. All of this for me to pull off to the Tee Box and have to wait for 3 gentlemen golfing in the middle of the fairway. They clearly need to adjust their scheduling and learn to cut off folks in order to allow them to enjoy their $’s worth of golf. I also had a senior trio playing behind my father and I talk crap the entire time hoping “we didn’t hold them up” horrible experience for my moneys worth. Definitely taking my $174 and golfing at a different course next time. The Hyatt seems to worry more about making $$$ and squeezing folks in rather than making it about the experience for their visitor.
Not What It's Been
The course (Lakes & Creeks) was in rough shape. Just about all of the tee boxes were poor, mostly sand- definitely not much grass nor much green. The greens were aerated two weeks ago and they were not good. The ball hopped all over the place and just didn't roll true. It was hot and only one cooler had water in it.
This course is not usually like this, I hope it is not a trend. Pro shop, starter and cart ladies were all very nice.
Slooooowww
Seems like it could have been fun if they didn't let groups of 5 go out and groups with tiny children that run around while their parents are shooting. Terrible pace if play not fun at all, and for someone who likes to drive the ball long this place isn't for you, lots of irons off the tee.
Staff review
I along with my group were kicked off the course at 8:00pm. There was still a good 35-40 minutes of daylight left. When I asked why we had to quit on hole 15 the employee told me the course was closed and I didn't acknowledge the 7:45 warning on the golf cart. I let him know that I was not told I needed to be finished with the cart by 7:45. I also told him I was not told that I needed to let the clubhouse know I was still on the course after 7:45. He told me that is not his problem and there is nothing that can be done. I was literally standing on the green when he let my party know we had to leave right then. I will not be back.
Great Conditions But...
This course is always in great shape. From tee boxes to greens, it is difficult to find a better manicured course in the area. However, it does have a few flaws. The biggest is the layout of the course. While there are 27 pristine holes, quite honestly, it feels like there was only enough acreage for mabye 20. Most of the holes play very short so you cannot hit driver on several par 4s and even some par 5s. Because of the lack of acreage, they've had to gimmick up the course. There are trees that block greens and even fairways, a very short par-5 that is in the shape of a horse-shoe (as well as a very short U-shaped par 4), etc. You can easily get around this course hitting irons off the tees, which is a real shame because as I said, the conditions are great. The practice facilities are excellent but they charge $20 if you want to use any part of it. That's right, $20 just to putt. The clubhouse staff is helpful but I wouldn't exactly say friendly. The guys who run the carts and the girls who drive the drink carts are always friendly. Based on all of that, then lastly, I think they're over-priced. You can find a course with similar conditions and a better layout for a much better price (see Canyon Springs and others). Hope this helps!
4 Stars are you kidding!
Hyatt Hotel and pool are were great and the 90% of staff was very friendly except the bartenders in Charlies Long Bar, but like everywhere they were short staffed and sometimes you had to wait awhile to get served! Breakfast buffet was one of the best!
We have a group of 16 to 20 college buddies that have played golf from coast to coast for the past 28 years, and this was by far the worse designed and course conditions that we have ever played on. Many greens on all three courses, Oaks especially had more dirt than grass. The fairways were in good shape, but the rough had more hardpan than grass and the tee boxes were spotty at best! We played 4 rounds of golf and spent almost $500, not worth the cost! Hyatt needs to scrap all 27 holes and bring Fazio or Nicklaus to redesign the entire property. Because the terrain and topography are outstanding with all the oak trees, lakes, creeks, shrubs, and great weather most of the year, they could charge $200+ a round and have a full tee sheet! Spend a little more money and go play an outstanding golf course at La Cantera about 18 minutes away!

Greens in bad shape
For the price it cost to play it’s not worth it. If they know they’re having problems with the greens then low the cost to play. Nice layout
Poor Maintenance
There were bare spots on all the tee boxes. The green and tee boxes weren’t over seeded. There were greens with invasive grass growing through out the different greens. I realize we had a winter storm within the past week. However, the condition of the greens and tee boxes are a situation that has not developed in one week.
Lack of water
Looks like they have not water the golf course in months very dry greens are in bad shape fairways Are hard and dry
Slow play and ineffective staff
The pace of play was extremely slow and the marshal felt he could not do anything about a group that slowing everyone down.
The restaurant service was supper slow. After waiting for their fastest options for 45 minutes we had to take them with us to the course.
The comment form the manager at the proshop was "Sorry that happened to you"

A Beautiful Day/Golf Course Spoiled
The Good
The golf course is very challenging and has several memorable holes. The course was in good condition.
The Not-so-Good
The facility was completely booked with all tee times filled. As we waited for our tee time, a large group of golfers without tee times wanted to have a tournament so the course accommodated them and we started almost an hour late. The course was so full that once we did get started it took over 6 hours to play.
Another issue that bothered me (maybe just a personal thing), was that I was given my own cart when I arrived and was asked by the starter to pair up with another person in the group that had their own cart. Ordinarily, I would have no problem with this but the person they wanted me to share a cart with was smoking like a chimney. I asked the starter if I could either keep my own cart or pair up with someone in another group because of the smoker and was given a very definitive NO, THAT'S YOUR PROBLEM response. Needless to say, having to inhale second hand smoke for over 6 hours was not the kind of day I was hoping to have.
Hi "u000001277996" We appreciate your honest feedback regarding your recent round with us, and apologize about the back up on the first tee. We had a group contracted that morning who showed up with additional players which unfortunately impacted your experience. We also apologize for the lack of customer service you may have received from the starter. We appreciate your honest feedback and assure you that we will take a closer look to see what may have happened on this particular day and use this as training to better our golf experience. We would love to make it up to you with a promo code If you could please email me directly at **** we would love to make it up to you. Thanks MGT
Thank you!!
Eric
I understand…but disappointing
I was really looking forward to playing the course. My wife and I visited the resort last year, but I wasn’t able to play.
However, yesterday was very disappointing…definitely NOT worth $100. I understand it’s still early in the year and everything is still dormant, but the greens had weeds on them and the tee boxes were mostly mud. The starter seemed uninterested, and wouldn’t tell me which 9 holes we would be starting on until right before we teed off. However, the young lady on the beverage cart was friendly and was the only one who seemed to care about our experience at your golf course.
Maybe don’t charge full price until the course justifies it.
Oh well…next time I’ll go back to La Cantera. Much better experience for the same price.
course is in dry condition
course is in drier condition, compared to previous years. Sand Traps, while are raked, need to be replenished with new sand and raked better to remove debris.
Look for deal
Greens have had sand added to them not to log ago so it seemed the were needing to fill in. Tee boxes have been sealed recently too. Nice place to play and was not backed up. I would look for a deal on golf now before paying full price.
Hi "GabsDad" Thank you for your feedback as this is how we continue to improve our operation and experience for our guests. I am glad hear your positive comments on the conditioning of the course and the service of the staff. I am sorry you did not like the layout of the course. Unfortunately, this is out of our control and we strive to have the best manicured course and provide the best service possible, thus providing an overall positive golfing experience. We hope that you will give us another try in the near future. Thanks Mgt
