Beautiful views!
This course was very challenging but still a ton of fun. The views were beautiful and we had a great time. Would definitely return to play here again.
Disappointed Conditions
Many places on the greens were in bad shape and not puttable. No one keeping the pace of play moving. Way to slow. Not worth a $199. Will not play there again. To many courses in Austin area in better condition for the price.
Thank you.
poor greens
pace of play was slow. I played in a foursome, we played behind a twosome and waited on every hole. we saw no Marshall's attempt to improve pace.
Some greens had bare spots, all were bumpy due puanna grass growth.
Wolfdancer
The course is very challenging and in great shape. The pace of play on this day was unfortunately pretty slow in the late afternoon. Besides the pace of play everything was great.
Poor Greens
When you play a $200 course, you expect it to be in top shape. Unfortunately the greens were poorly maintained and in terrible condition. It meant that scoring was virtually impossible as you were putting through large repair patches or your ball was turning on right angles. Was really disappointed considering the cost.
Overall I really enjoyed the layout of the course and the scenery. Notwithstanding the conditions of the greens, we had a good time - but won’t be going back there.
Fun course, not worth the money
Really interesting layout, but tee boxes and greens were in tough shape. For the $175 price point, very low on the value scale.
Great Course
I truly enjoyed my round at Wolfdancer! The weather was perfect; the course was in great shape, and challenging. I’m a 15 handicap player, and actually had a birdie on the back nine after sinking a 15 foot putt. I played with a couple off young men that were both long hitters, and that was fun to watch. It’s a little pricey, though, so it will be some time before I play here again, but it’s a great memory.
Course has seen better days
I was very disappointed with the conditions of the greens on Wolfdancer. The aprons / margins were overtaken by poa annua to the extent that you had to chip over most to get to the green. The same can be said for many greens where the growth of poa dotted some greens to the point of either slowing your putts or knocking them off-line - especially the 8th green. Most of the green side bunkers had thin layer of sand covering firm ground that caused yo to blade your bunker shots instead of blasting them out. The chipping and pitching practice area short of the driving range is no longer maintained. And if you think there will be someone available to store your bags (if you’re staying at the hotel) after your round, there is no one after 6 and the small restaurant at the club house has been shut down. Not worth the price to play.
$150 round? You would expect a lot more.
Conditions were horrendous. This course has a lot of potential and seems like it was part of a master plan resort, but they have either run out of money or neglected the place. Greens were blown out, fairways were dry, bunkers full of stones. Layout is fantastic and the facility and people are great. I know it's spring time in Texas but the place needs some love.
Worth it
Beautiful course on a beautiful property. Conditions weren't ideal (super windy and dry) but it added to the experience of a challenging course. Lots of bunkers, fast and undulating greens, and tricky par 3s make par an achievement. Loved the course and the day and would come back again in a heartbeat if I'm in the area
Poa poa sand
Love this track and the deals I get to play but if I was paying full price, I’d be upset by lack of sand in greenside bunkers, I get it don’t hit there and the tremendous amount of Poa on the greens. Normally these greens are amazing, so it pains me to say these things. I also understand that poa is hard to contain but seeing as the course is always asking $100+ these things matter. The staff of always great. The rest of course was very nice and it’s a heck of challenge, hope the summer kills off the poa, cause I’ll be back. It is a great layout.
Cool layout but rough shape
Greens slow and worn in some places. Many of the bunkers are unplayable.
Will travel back across country to play again
Event in the spring season before everything looks perfect this was a very fun course to play. Pace of play was great, GPS on carts, very accurate. Challenging and fun. First 12 holes are hilly and canyon like. 13 - 18 are riverbed and wide open. Can't wait for the next opportunity to come back and play again.
