Nice all around
Tee boxes and fairways were really good, most of the greens though have crab grass all through out them so you ball won’t roll true but for the price I paid it was worth going.
Nice course
Greens need some attention. Nice course I would recommend it and will play it again
Cool design that needs a major renovation
The course design was cool. Bunker placement, tree place, green complex made you think on every shot. However look like it had just been mowed by a 12 year old. Overall maintenance of the course isn’t great. Greens need redone. Invasive grass has taken over the greens big time. I paid a hot deal rate of sixty dollars. I was disappointed on how much I paid. But the realized hopefully they put that money towards a renovation. The pace of play and lack of control of that is complete different topic. If you are visiting lake Conroe make friends with some who is a country club member is this only public golf option just doesn’t suit the golfers eye. If you want to have a good time with some friends and bet some beers on the round then go for it.
Not as bad as everyone made it out to be
Course layout - pretty average, had some cool holes
Fairways - average, mostly good, been pretty dry lately, alittle tight but didn’t have any trouble getting out of the trees
Greens - below average, I’d say about 60% were in decent shape, the others had a lot of crab grass but didn’t really effect the putts too bad
Bunkers - pretty good, decent sand, no standing water
Food/Beverages- no cart service, alittle pricey on the food and drinks in the pro shop, nice staff though
Practice facility- ok, had a small driving range and putting/chipping green
Place wasn’t bad as the reviews said, I would play it again, I scored well and had fun. 7 handicap
Horrible greens
Their greens bounce not roll.
More weeds than grass.
Avoid this golf course
I kept trying to enjoy golf here but so many needs for improvement. Cart paths unusable. Greens are crab grass. Greens are tiny as compared to most courses. To top it off my golf GPS watch does not recognize This course and had me playing the Walden course through 7 holes.
Hungry in paradise…
Disappointed with the club house. The snack bar/ food counter was absolutely barren. No chips, crackers or candy bars of any kind. The only food available was a turkey wrap, which was tasty but cost $16.26 Employee stated everything else was locked up and he didn’t have the key.
A little disappointing for a Margaritaville Resort.
Greens
Greens and fringe around greens are sub par for a resort course.
Greens
Greens are in pretty bad shape. No course should have "Resort" in their name with greens like these. Also, fringe around greens was too high. Needed to be mowed.
Margaritaville
Was more impressed last time I played Margaritaville Resort Golf Course. The greens are the main issue. The poa grass has taken over some of the greens, making them very uneven. Some of the greens have spotty coverage. The fairways were, for the most part, in good shape. The layout is challenging with lots of big trees, water, and sand.
Very Enjoyable course.
Great course to play. Fairways are getting better over the years. Greens still need some work. Beautiful course overall, especially hole 15 which is the nicest.
Greens and bunkers
The course is fun, but it is in very bad shape. Greens and bunkers were in terrible shape. I understand bunkers get washed out with all the rain we have had, but most were mud pits. That wasn’t done from a couple of storms. The greens had so many weeds/ grasses growing through them it was impossible to putt on. Where there weren’t weeds there was just nothing but sand. The tee boxes didn’t really seem like tees were moved often because there were a lot of divots in. Fairways seemed to be in decent condition but I didn’t spend much time on them!
