Book early
Was informed that 18 holes cannot be played after I had booked for 18 holes. This should have been mentioned at time of booking
Fun course
We enjoyed this course. The greens were fast as quite challenging. Pin position on several made it hard to even 2 put. The only disappointment was the restaurant and bar was closed when we went in at 5:30.
Worth every penny
Great layout, maintained very well, a real challenge. They give it TLC
Save your money
Coral Canyon golf course one of the worst in Southern Utah. The course lies in a flood plain (Back 9), and is the product of the architectural school that strives for the spectacular rather than the playable. It has all of the trappings of a high-end course - nice clubhouse, etc.., but is virtually unplayable for the average golfer. Much of the back 9 has been washed out. The course is poorly maintained, with heat damaged greens (that rolled nicely in spite of the damage), and too much acreage to mow properly. There are several forced carries and blind shots and more cart path cement than the average airport runway complex. The shop was staffed by a teenager who wanted to be somewhere else, and the green fee was a colossal rip-off. No one in their right mind would play this more than once.
This course has challenges but not punitive.
A group of eight had a very nice time playing the course for the first time. What absolutely sets it apart from other courses is the staff! It begins with a welcome from the employees at cart drop area, checking in with a very personable pro, playing the course, then upon finishing greeted again by the friendly staff. Our experience was very positive! We will return!
Coral Canyon
Great course, beautiful views, friendly staff and great value
Waaaaaay better than Sept. Of 2020
A group of us from California played here last September. At that time the course seemed to be going through some renovation improvements and we were going to scratch it off our list for this year. Well as I found when I played yesterday that was the case. The course was in fantastic shape this time. I was informed that they hired a new superintendent. Definetly keeping this on the list for the guys later this year. The fairways and greens are awesome. The staff was great also. I wasn't in the parking for more than 30 seconds and Cole was there with a cart to pick me up. Kudos!!!
whoops!
30-40mph wins made for interesting play. Course was a pleasant surprise considering some of the posted reviews. Greens were in good condition, some dry and dirt areas on and near fairways, work in progress evident.
Not epic long, but plenty of challenge
In the gorgeous landscape near St. George, Utah this is a very playable course. What it does have is prodigious length, but it makes up with elevation changes that will require a good shot to set up par. Typical of desert courses that will be forced carries over scrub brush, but wide landing areas. I really like the wide variety of hole designs. Nothing repetitive, and sometimes a fade would be the best shot, other times a draw. While walking would be possible, a cart is the best way to enjoy this course. Staff and facilities are very good without being snobby and posh..
Beautiful PRICEY Friendly Staff ROUGH GREENS
Visiting family in St George and taking in the sights for the kids spring break. Played Coral Canyon a few mornings. Very friendly staff and well maintained facilities.
I think $100 on a weekday (Monday/Tuesday) is kind of steep but I’m not from Utah. Maybe that’s normal.
The greens were in rough shape. Mix of different grasses, some bald spots and weeds. Bumpy and slow. Hard to read and I think we lost some strokes (but you know we’re always looking for excuses ;) ).
I’d recommend it and give it 5 stars all around if they can fix the greens and order a few bucks off during weekdays.
Tough corse in the wind
Some dry spot but over all not that bad. They are under new owner and you can tell they are making improvements
Course Continues to Improve
Nice challenging layout. Every hole is different. Today the pace of play was slow for my taste. Over 4.5 hours with a 10:10 tee time.
Fun layout
Course has a fun layout. No holes are similar. Thought the greens were not really fast. Still lots of construction going on.
Overpriced
The staff were very friendly and helpful. The course was expensive for the condition. Would not recommend it or try it again.
Great layout but course conditions were bleak. The fairways were in very poor shape. The greens were bumpy and not at all smooth. For the price of green fees, it was a poor choice in local courses.
