Great, moderately challenging course
This course is a great place to golf. Staff is very friendly and professional. The course is well maintained and the play is fun yet challenging. The food was good at the restaurant. The ONLY complaint I had is that they did not have a beverage cart out on the course for some reason. Simple problem to fix, just had to stock up at the clubhouse.
Course is in very good shape
Course is very enjoyable to play. A little too busy, but still worth it.
What a gem!
Outstanding!
Get in your car and play this track.
This is a special place. The replica holes are very cool.
Gem
Was intrigued by replica holes, actually think the other holes are better. Back nine very strong holes. Replica hole of 17 at Sawgrass (#9), was very realistic as I have played the original. Really neat layout, with variety, and accommodating fairways. My only critique would be fairways are a bit longer than one might be accustomed to at this price point. Course may play longer due to not as much roll in fairways. Would play again with enthusiasm if I am back in the area. Very nice bar for 19th hole recap.
Excellent Golf Experience
The replica holes may be what draw people in, but I think the real strength of this course is the original holes that surround the replicas. It is a resort course so fridays and saturdays in the summer can make for a long day, but playing during the week or on Sunday the pace of play is usually very quick. I've played here probably close to ten times now and the course has always been in excellent condition, even in April or October.
Vacation golf
Beautiful course with many (I think 7) replica holes. Island green #10 is awesome! Excellent course for all skill levels with wide fairways and tight greens for challenging approach shots.
Always Fun
Second time playing here this year. Have been coming up here the last 7 years with a group of 30+. Always a good time.
A hidden gem 30 min. north of the Dells.
Had a 10:00 T-Time. Probably because of the threat of rain, the course was not crowded, in fact, I had the whole course to myself. What is really neat about this course are the 6 replica holes from various PGA tour stops. Somehow, I doubt that the 11th hole, a copy of the 13th at Augusta National has that wide of a fairway! That's OK with me though, because I'm not the straightest driver in the world. In fact, most of the par 4's and 5's have very generous landing areas. The greens were in excellent shape as were the tee boxes, but the fairways had a few rough spots. The staff was friendly, one of them took the time to clean my clubs and carry them to the bag drop when I was done. The beverage cart girl was friendly and attentive. Also several grounds crew people were on the course, and when they knew I was about to hit, they were courteous, and turned off their mowers. I suspect that this is a fairly new course, and will only improve with time. Paid about $80.00. Including the online res. fee. Power cart and range balls were included. For a course of this quality ,unless you can snag one of those "hot deals" that's about right. Only thing is, they need more billboards, signs on Hy13, 21, etc.from both directions telling you how to get here. When I go to the Dells from now on, I'll have to include this course in my rotation.

Beautiful Course...long round
My wife and I played this course for the first time the other day. The clubhouse was very nice and the folks at both the pro shop and starter were very friendly.
The course gets a wide variety of golfers with varying abilities. In addition because this is somewhat of a destination course people tend to play as if they have 5 hours versus trying to get a round done in 3 1/2 as I typically try to do at my home course. I had a tee time late afternoon hoping that most of the slower golfers had been through, unfortunately this was not the case.
Would I play this course again? Absolutely!! However I would ask for the first tee time of the day.
Great venue for the whole family
We had a great time playing the Castle Course. The pace of play was fine and the variety of hole types was very fun. We had our two boys with us who really enjoyed the course. The facilities are very nice and the food was great. I would recommend playing this course if you haven't yet.
Northern Bay Resort (Castle Course)
The Good: The "Castle" course is the jewel of the Northern Bay resort complex about 20 miles north of Wisconsin Dells. Combination of original design and 7 replica holes from major championship venues. The front nine is fairly open, while the back nine is a particularly great stretch of holes that weave through woodlands. Good course conditions and very nice amenities including large clubhouse and restaurant. Very strong practice facility and on-course amenities that include GPS. Very friendly staff will ensure you have a great experience. The replica holes are very cool and don't really disrupt the flow of the round. Good value for quality of course, particularly during off-season. Good variety of holes; many of the non-replica holes are great.
The Bad: Greens can be a little on the slow side. Lack of starter is a little surprising. Lack of on-course restrooms is a minus. At around $100 during peak season, can be a little steep compared to stronger courses in the area (Wild Rock and Trapper's Turn). The front nine is fairly boring compared to the back nine.
The Verdict: While no longer the premium course in the area (thanks to Wild Rock and upcoming Sand Valley), Northern Bay still provides a strong overall golfing experience. A sporty track that is fun to discuss at the 19th hole, but even more fun to play.
Best Hole(s): The 18th is a great replica of Bay Hill's closing hole. The short Par 5 #8 is a great risk-reward hole.
Castle Course
I love this course. We've played it two consecutive years in the fall, and the course has been in fantastic shape each time. The signature holes are awesome, but the other 9 holes are just as challenging. The staff are polite, helpful and prompt.
Northern Bay
i loved the replica holes, especially the copy of #17 at Sawgrass. with the wind quartering towards us at about 20 mph, my partner and I both made the green and escaped with par. Very fun! the front 9 holes had recently been aerated so putting was very difficult on those greens. the back 9 had not been done so played much better. definitely want to go back.
Beautiful Course
Enjoyed the day very much. The course was great and the weather was excellent. I have always recommended this course to others.
Two negatives were 1) someone from the course should keep slow groups moving along and 2) the staff should refrain from personal comments regarding their preferences.
Wisconsin golf trip
Pace of play real slow.Even though there was a marshall out there I don't think he was doing his job.
Fairways in bad shape.
Played course many times in the last 5 years. This is the worst shape I have seen it in. Was my favorite, but now Wild Rock is.
Over priced for the experience. Same price paid for better course at Wild Rock.
Cool Course, Bad Fairways
The course was fun, and the replica holes were really fun. The only bad thing was the fairways. The grass way too long to be considered a fairway.
Good value at Golfnow discount rates
Course was in good condition, great amenities, replica holes are fun and challenging
A bucket list course
The replica holes are so exact the greens have the same breaks and slopes. Northern Bay is one of the few courses I have played which exceed expectations. It is challenging yet forgiving. Enjoy your golfing adventure!
Castle Course at Northern Bay
I have played this course several times in the past. The fairway conditions were not up to the standards of a premier course. The greens were well maintained and fast. The bunkers also were well maintained. Overall it was an average course for the money.
