Located just a few minutes north of Olympia, the Golf Club at Hawk's Prairie is one of the South Sound's most popular golf destinations. The club has two 18-hole courses, each with a completely different layout. You can choose between the classic Scottish design of the Links Course or the Woodlands Course with its idyllic landscape of dense, old growth forest. The Woodlands is what you would expect from a Pacific Northwest golf course, with sprawling fairways that snake through towering trees and large, multi-tiered greens. Ponds and wetlands come into play throughout and there are strategically placed bunkers protecting most of the greens. In addition to offering both a challenging and scenic round, the course was also ranked as one of the Top 75 Most Affordable Golf Courses by Golf Digest.

Fun for all skill levels

Beautiful day in September 2012 on a very good course. Well laid out with enough variety to make it a step above most courses in the area. Water hazards and enough sand traps to make it very challenging from the back but very playable from the front.

Good value that includes a cart which is helpful since the course is built on undulating land, although about half of the holes are fairly level.

Challenging greens completes the picture and a very enjoyable outing.

links course on the west coast.

golf now makes this course reasonable cost wise. the golf staff are very knowledgeable. quality proshop. (shop off season for best deals) this course is a true links style with plenty of wind, sand, water, and open space. ( if you want traditional wooded golf then try the adjoining course formerly known as Meriwood)
the pace was rather slow when we played even with a golf cart.
the greens were unpredictable with one being slow and the next being fast so it would pay to hit it close and watch the others putt first. I really liked the course when no houses were on the property, now it looks like homes are on almost every hole. the design is great with variety and risk/reward holes available.

The course has great possibilities.

If or whenever this course could be rated as great, the staff could be friendlier, not just focused on members or tournament players.
