Bad experience at silverhorn
Played many times here but not in a couple months. The fairways were in rough shape, lacking grass. The greens were even worse, had to put on sand basically on a few greens. I'm not too picky but the course was borderline playable, even for a hack like me! To top it off, when we finished the front nine and headed toward the back they told us that the back nine was closed due to a foot golf tournament and that we'd have to play the front again. It wasn't busy at all when we teed off so why wouldn't they just let us go on the back and finish up on the front? What made me mad was that they didn't even tell us beforehand what was going on. Don't think I'll be going back out there anytime soon
horrible
green are in absolutely horrible condition!! bare spots, weeds growing on the greens, worst I have ever seen at this course. don't waste your time playing here unless you just want to skip putting all together!
great experience
I will be playing here again soon. The bunkers had standing water, but thats an easy fix and everything else was awsome. It was really visually appealing with changing elevations and creeks throughout. Blind shots and dog legs made for a lot of fun holes. Well worth the money and drive.
great job
If your looking for a challenging game with plenty of required strategy then the course at Silverhorn is the place to go . with smooth tight greens and clean cut fairways this is sure too be a pleasant golfing experience for golfers of all skills. Having the privileged opportunity to play many metro area courses Silverhorn by far is the best looking facility that I have played this season. To the staff at Silverhorn Great job and thank you for making golf more than enjoyable.
Great staff
I love playing at Silverhorn! It can be a bit challenging on some holes for someone who is still fairly new to golf like myself, but the course itself is always in great shape. I can not say enough how great the staff is at Silverhorn, always respectful and kind!
Greens
The greens are in very good shape. The balls stick very well on approach shots
Good course
The course was in good shape. Always challenging and fun to play.
Nice course with marshals but....
This was a nice course. Not very long but plenty of challenges. However they do have marshals that roam the course but not ONE instructed the group of FOUR in front of our group of TWO to let us play through.
Greens still long and slow
This course has major potential but it being held up due to the poor conditions on the greens. The greens look green and are not diseased but the greens are way too long and slow. Also, the hole cups have not been changed in who knows how long so every hole is far from crisp or cleanly cut; even the practice green needs attention. The fairways are nice and the holes are challenging, once it receives the needed attention around the greens it will be a fantastic course.
Tough yet fair, except #4
I don't mind playing difficult courses & I was fairly proud of my 91 considering the heat & typical Oklahoma winds (4:07 start & it was still 95-100 degrees, about 85% humidity & a southern breeze of around 15mph); however, the 4th hole is so wickedly punishing that it borders on "unfair" & will swallow up to a dozen golf balls from a single foursome of average players. And I've hated it since the 1st time I ever played there. Other than that ugly monster, I really do love the course. And Dick from the Pro Shop was AMAZING. He & the whole staff always do a great job.
Slow greens
Overall the course was in good condition. The greens were long and slow. In visiting with staff there is a new greens keeper that cares about the condition of the course. Once the greens are firmer and faster i would give 5 stars.
Great course
great course, greens in great condition, challenging to play.
Great value with a challenge
A nice course tucked away in the city. This course always gas a great rate available on www.golfnow.com
Recommend!
Great Course for the Price
Course was in good condition, fantastic price. The cart paths need some work but the course itself is in great shape, a little tight, which makes it a little more challenging to play which is nice. I definitely recommend Silverhorn.
Great Value
Don't get me wrong it's no championship level course but they don't say they are. You can get GREAT rates. The course is taken care of very well! Overall it's an awesome place to play
great time
staff was friendly and very helpful. showed up 1 1/2 hour early to hit range balls and putt . got to start about 45 minutes before my tee time.
Great Day of Golf
Another great day of golf with my son. The course was in good condition, weather was great.
Awesome greens
Greens are In the best shape. Putted lights out! Could fix tee boxes in better conditions.
Played through the rain
This was my first time at this course and I had a great time. It rained the whole time but we pushed through. Course was in excellent shape. I enjoyed the layout. Lots of tight spots and blind shots. Really enjoyed it. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Overall it was a great experience. Will play again soon.
Silverhorn guest review
I'm from the DFW area but played twilight here just for fun. The course was in good shape and the greens were nice but the T-boxes were in poor condition as almost all were chopped up, dry and so hard you could barely put a tee in the ground. Playing as a guest alone, I got fooled by the layout a few times in judging yardages, even with the course book they provided. They staff was great and very accommodating, and I would recommend this course. My rate through Golf Now was much better than the local city courses twilight rate and better conditions, so a much better value for the money.
