Great Place!
We allways have a great time in there,of course would be nicer if work in sand traps...but great course!
Very nice course
The Lakes course was in pretty darn good condition for it being April and with the winter we had in Texas. Staff was awesome, the course great. Not a particularly hard course, made it great for first time out this season. Definitely will come back. Great discount through the website too. (golfnow.com of course)
New to me
I play annually on the creek course for a tournament and had never played the lakes so I figured I'd give it a whirl. The lakes feels like an afterthought. The creek course is infinitely nicer than the lakes. Good thing they don't charge as much for the lakes as the other course. Still had a good time golfing so can't complain too much
love the layout
windy the day I played. love the course, but the 5 1/2
pace of play was painful..
Great fun
Great course. Friendly staff and good value with golf now app
Fantastic shape but the carts are annoying
I can't believe someone played here the day before me and wrote a review that the course was in terrible shape. These are the lushest fairways of any public course I've played so far in Dallas this year, and I have played well over a dozen. I even played here back in early March when we still had freezing temperatures and while most other munis were covered in brown grass, the Creeks had lush fairways.
The carts are terrible not because they are gas, but because 0-100% acceleration happens in a quarter of a second, so there is quite a jerk every time you take off. Ditto to the person who said the golf carts lack suspension of any kind, and it really will bother your back after riding for a few holes. Nice to have GPS though.
Golfnow has very good deals on this course, and the only time I have played is through a Golfnow deal.
Golf
This was by far the worse round of golf I've ever experienced. I hate to give such a negative review because the staff was so good. The fairways were like hitting concrete w/ grass and the greens were rock hard. You could pitch into the greens without rolling off the other side. The gasoline powered carts were noisy and the springs were totally shot from riding over the bumpiest fairways I've ever experienced.
Great find
was in town for work and just came across this one. was first one out on course at dawn so i had it to myself. greens were in great shape and were rolling very pure. difficult course but fair setup.
Nice Layout
We played the course after a heavy night of rain. It is a low lying course, so there was lots of mud. But, we liked the layout. Each hole is tree lined and water locations made the course moderately challenging. It was spring conditions with the tee boxes not being mowed and the fairways top seeded. We got a rate of $25, which I thought was an excellent value. I would come back here again.
Play The Creeks Course
The Indian creek Lakes course is pretty average for the money you pay. The course is in ok condition.
In my opinion pony up the extra $15 and play the creeks course which is in much better condition. The difference between the two is staggering.
Very good golf course!
Everything was great except the rental clubs are too expensive! $50.00 is too much for rental clubs. Everything else is great!
Greens
Tees to greens, course was great but the front nine greens were more like playing goofy golf...back nine greens was a bit fairer.
Terrible course
I don't know where to begin with how bad this course was. A majority of the tee boxes were torn up pretty badly, and it was even more difficult to find a level area to tee off from. The tee boxes were so uneven it was not uncommon for the ball to be 3-6 inches above or below my feet when. Teeing off.
Next, if you can hit the ball over 240 yards don't even bother bringing your driver (playing from the blue tees). Almost every hole is a large dog leg with water on both sides after the turn, forcing you to either hit a perfectly shaped shot or lay up at 220 yards on over half the holes.
The condition of the course was also terrible. There is very little grass anywhere off the fairway, with nothing to be found but hard bare dirt and tree roots. The "sand" traps were some if the worst I have ever seen. There wasn't anything even sort of resembling sand, but instead were just holes of hard dry dirt. Finally, the greens had weeds growing in on them.
I would not recommend this course to anyone.
Nice, but...
Nice course, but drainage was a big issue. Two days after rain standing water & muddy conditions were all over the course.
Poor Pace
Creeks course is fun and challenging. Overseeding was really nice after months of brown. Lots of very good holes. BUT, pace of play by stream of twosomes in front of us was RIDICULOUS. Marshall friendly but his advice was "enjoy the weather". Hard to do with three groups on teebox. They should pair up twosomes or spread out times. I think that the pace would make me not play again.
Great layout
Played both courses, Lake Course is a better test of golf than the Creek. Creek greens are goofy golf... Just Need a wind mill etc, at each green to finish it off...
Course Needs Work
Greens were dead and had 2-3" high grass patches all over the green. Fairways will need work in spring due to dirt patches throughout course. Ground is very hard. Management focuses mainly on the Creek course so don't expect too much from the Lakes course. Good just to practice your game.
What a great day
The course, staff, and weather was great. The only problem was we were not the only people wanting to get a round of golf in on such a great day of weather, making the pace of play 55 min behind so a long day of golf, not such a bad thing. We cant wait to get back to this course.
Excellent course
The best in season!
I played all winter season, In Dallas área golf clubs are in good or mild condition, but this is en excellent Shape, the fairways and the greens are beatifull.
this course has a fair layout and good greens.
Would play this again, particularly with $40 coupons. Greens are good, but some samll weeds are showing that can affect slow putts. Fresh sand in bunkers makes short sand shots challenging.
