Reviews
Well kept
The course was in excellent condition, well manicured with really fast greens.
The only thing negative for me was it’s really hilly ,being a fit pensioners I would not choose it as my home course although playing a odd round was good.
What a welcome
When the Pro said the most important thing was “go and have fun”, I knew I was in for a treat. Condition excellent. Layout, has rises/falls and a mix of flat and sloped fairways to make things interesting and have you consider shots. The only slight problem I had, and it is nothing to do with the Club, was the low Sun on the finishing holes. I will definitely be making a return visit.
First visit
Course was in top condition courtesy of club championship same day so perhaps expected to be well manicured etc however the greens were in exceptional condition. Few too many slopes for my liking so wouldn’t choose as my home course but well worth a visit and green fees. Staff all v friendly and made to feel welcome.
Not a bad way to spend a Sunday.
Lovely day out on a well kept course.
It was busy and the pace was a bit slow, having said that it was more down to wayward golfers than the course.
A few of the holes are narrow for those who are wayward off the tee (myself included) which meant some of the holdups were people on other fairways.
Course was in great condition given the rain over the past week.
Would play again, perhaps when I get more comfort in my driving accuracy.
Lovely course, nice layout!
A really nice course in very good condition. Lovely layout, would like to play it again now that we have a better idea of green positions!
Very friendly welcome at the Pro Shop, which was nice to see.
Look forward to returning very soon!
Last Minute
Time Management very poor!!
Was told we wld be 10mins late teeing off but we were 35mins late
Course was in good condition.
Great course. Great food
Lovely course with great holes and tricky greens. Food was brilliant afterwards
Nice course held up well considering heavy rain.
Great course that remained open when plenty of other courses wouldnt have been playable considering the heavy rain the previous day.
We were waiting on some tees near the end but it didn't ruin our round. Greens were in great condition and very fast even when damp!
Would definitely play again.
Winter wonderland
Having booked through golf now. We arrived at the course to find it was completely frost bound and icy. Only winter holes in play if you were willing to play them. We asked the professional if we could have a rain check as for us the course was unplayable. He said no and we would have to ask golf now for our money back and that he could not help.
Excellent experience
My visit to this course which is close to where I live was a day to remember. Although there was frost on the ground the sun was shining and the ground staff lost no time moving the flags from the winter greens to the proper greens. I was welcomed by the club professional and offered a mat, free of charge to play from because of the frosty conditions. After my game I had lunch in the clubhouse and was served by very friendly bar and kitchen staff. My compliments to all the staff at the course for a very memorable visit.
A hidden gem
The course was in immaculate condition, despite recent heavy rain, with the greens in particular being of a very high standard. I received a warm, friendly welcome from the club pro who also took time to explain the course layout and the colour coded pin system; red pin means front of green, yellow means middle and white means back. Helpful for judging distance to pin.
The course has many par 4s that are similar in length and layout, especially on the front 9, with 4 picturesque and tricky par 3s coming as a welcome departure. There are no par 5s but this did not detract from my enjoyment of the course in any way. The back 9 is certainly the more interesting of the two with a greater variety of holes with varying degrees of difficulty.
Overall I would recommend this course to golfers of all abilities and, given that I live fairly locally, I am contemplating joining such was my enjoyment on the day
Great Value
Lovely course, immaculate condition, pace of play dire due to Open competition being on. Staff friendly, welcoming and polite. Would definitely recommend.
